WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

What’s even tougher is seeing some of the teams that are normally at least average and often good (à la Drake) be absolute disasters this year. We will end up with one good non conference game in the matchup with Iowa. Losing that one could be very damaging to our resume. It’s looming very big right now.

If the UNI's and Drake's of the world get a good player it's going to be harder to keep them in the portal/NIL world. Same for the bottom 1/3 of the P4 leagues.

Chit-Chat Wright is back and Iowa is all over Rutgers 26-6. 20 pts in the paint. With Wright back we will be getting almost full strength Hawks for the big Cy-Hawk game this next week. If next weeks game lives up to hype it's going to be quite the battle.

Hawks’ post players running the floor and scoring on the break. It will be interesting to see how we prevent that in our game.

Yeah, playing a little unconscious with the guards channeling Caitlin Clark with some of those passes. Still, that's been their jam. They do look better on defense than recent Hawk teams.

We will not miss as many shots as Rutgers and that's what feeding this fastbreak frenzy.

Rutgers is terrible. Hard to get a true read on Iowa.

And Chit-Chat Wright is maybe not a probable versus us again. She's out again, per announcers, for precautionary protocol or something like that. To me that reads concussion symptoms returned.

Couple oddities, Big 12 non-cupcake games today for middle of the Kansas teams. Not like Mizzu State is any good but it's not a complete cupcake and it's a roadie.

Gophers leading #7 Maryland by 14 at the half.

Edit: Now 4th quarter and anybody's game but feels like Maryland will pull it out.

Edit: Minnesota/Maryland going OT

Purple cats with the upset over Ole Miss.

Southern beats their 2nd straight Big 12 team. Not a good look for the conference.

I said it at the time, but Southern has some very real talent. There is a reason they were in the dance last year. And the Big 12 teams they've beaten are really bad. Props to them.

True, but Houston is a somewhat improved team this year. The new coach has already won 5 games. That's pretty good for a team that won a total of 5 last year. I went to one game down there in 24-25 and they had half the arena blocked off. About 160 red T-shirts sitting behind the team. When UCF came to town they brought about 24 fans on a bus. Vendors didn't do too well that night.

That is exactly what it was like when Fennelly arrived at ISU. My first game Dale and I walked in and most of the arena was roped off. We went down and sat behind the bench. Couple hundred people at best.
