WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

Personally, the makeup of the recruiting class so far doesn’t bother me in the least. Yes we need a true post or two, but being quicker and having some interchangeable shooters will be fun to watch. I’ve found the entire process intriguing and am patiently waiting for the last pieces to fall into place. The unknown and no expectations is actually kind of fun.
I’ve watched highlights of some of the incoming players but I haven’t done much research. Who can we look to for more quickness. And who are the shooters in the group. I know Comito can shoot.

Spotts and Harvey are fast active players. If you check "***WWB: 2026 Recruiting Thread***" from pg 21 on there are a few vids under each ESPN player recap. Here's Harvey' player highlights in AUS vs USA:

Both shoot well too. Stats are on the ESPN recaps, also. Dakic, Comito, and Babbitt are likely in that mix.

From this small sample size, I like what I see from Harvey.

Looks like we're running the Grinnell College run-n-gun 3-point offense next season with a 10-guard rotation.
Pre Angie Welle Bill ran a offense pretty similar to what this may be looking like. Someone mentioned not enough height being willing to block out will cure a lot of that not many women sky for rebounds or put backs.

I too think Harvey has potential. I see potential in others too. I am excited all these players want to be Cyclones. My concern is that Bill is going to have to significantly change things for this rosters and I don’t know if that will happen. None of these players are all Big 12 talents like Addy, Jada, or Audi. For them to have a chance, we cannot run a similar offense to what Bill has run the last decade. I think we have to run an offense with a lot of movement like Drake, Creighton, and other teams run. If we don’t it will be a struggle.

Just getting back from vacation to see the grands. Will be doing a write up to answer those very questions.
I think Harvey can be a solid PG. I expect Conner to start on the wing. And I see Bessette starting at the 4. I see her as a poor man’s Bridget. I think they are our three best transfers. Camino, Babbitt, and Spotts all like to shoot the three. We will see if they can do it at this level. The 5 is a huge concern right now. We need a starter. We know AJ will be good at SG and EP will have a bigger role on this team. We have lots of unproven players for this level, we need some to make big jumps.

As a former 6’1 post (by necessity) at a small school 40+ years ago, tussling with, bodying up and blocking out 6’5 - 6’7 players over the course of a game almost always leads to foul trouble. You can’t teach height or quickness - you have to recruit it!

Holy cowboy-- they just keep rounding up pokes.

I remember playing Baylor & this gal shooting dagger 3's. I couldn't understand why Nicki substituted her out of the game, but I was always happy.

I wonder what this player cost OSU. She was a player I felt from watching her play she could receive a fairly good payday.

It would be interesting to know what her payday was. I thought it was baffling that she wasn't even a starter. Maybe it was due partly to a language barrier?

I found this quote from when she transferred from Auburn: "Auburn rising sophomore Yuting Deng, who reportedly held 50 offers when she entered the transfer portal, chose Baylor over others like UConn and Notre Dame Sunday night, according to multiple reports".

Good for her, she would be a bench piece at UConn. She is one of those players that you totally get why she is hopping around. Doing what she needs to do to prep for the W and provide for her family. Gets to see different parts of the country in doing so.

CW said on the latest pod that he expects to have quite a few Europeans join the roster over the course of the next couple of weeks.

We already have an Australian, Canadian, a Dane, and a Nigerian. Is there a reason we’re going so strong on the foreign market?

Lame duck coach with minimal funding. But BF has previously had a pretty high floor, I still see a competitive team hitting the floor.

My understanding is they are cheaper on average.

Not sure if it's still the case, but I know initially there were certain rules at to whether or not foreign players qualified for NIL due to visa restrictions.

That rule has changed. They can get paid now.

I suspected the time needed to find, procure, paper work, and travel are reasons for latency of commits.
