WBB: 2026 Transfer Portal

5'8' guard from NIACC. Walk on or scholarship?
Interesting! High volume shooter at NIACC.

Looks like we're running the Grinnell College run-n-gun 3-point offense next season with a 10-guard rotation.
Honestly, I felt like this team's calling card in the past was the ability to be a 3-point threat over the years. Yes, we had some awesome bigs too, but even they could shoot. We didn't always have "A" athletes, but they could shoot...and at a high volume. It was fun to watch. When Audi came, that all seemed to change....and that is not a knock-on Audi. I would love to see it come back.

With the signing of Spotts, our roster now stands at eleven:

8 Guards under 6'

6' - Evangelia Paulk (identifies as a guard but rebounds like a forward)
6'1 - Gift Ezekiel - C ("A riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma")
6'2 - Alex-Anne Bessette - W (only averaged 3.4 RPG at Loyola)

Note: in the Canadian comedy Letterkenny, Wayne's girlfriend from Quebec was named Marie-Fred. I do like French-Canadians with hyphenated names!

I was just looking at the portal lists and there are West Coast Conference Teams with more height in the portal than we have on our roster. Not to be mean, but the players we've signed had to come at K Mart Blue Light Special pricing, so we must have money left to splash on a couple of Forward / Centers! Are we going all in the Kentucky's 4* Kaelyn Carroll and St. Mary's Edie Clarke (for a trio of Aussies)?

Personally, the makeup of the recruiting class so far doesn’t bother me in the least. Yes we need a true post or two, but being quicker and having some interchangeable shooters will be fun to watch. I’ve found the entire process intriguing and am patiently waiting for the last pieces to fall into place. The unknown and no expectations is actually kind of fun.

I’ve never used drugs, but, like you, I feel Comfortably Numb about what’s happening. I know we should be screaming, demanding answers, and warning them we might skip games or stop donating. Instead, I’m watching to see how the roster develops. Maybe Hilton’s magic — like a quantum virtual particle — will pop into existence out of the chaos. I don’t want to be on this portal ride, but I’m strapped in to see what happens.
