I've been very intrigued by Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda. Her team recently won the SD State Champion. She's ranked #24 in the ESPN HS GBB rankings. She's athletic and her game is very versatile. She can shoot with both hands and is a good passer. I believe she's the real deal and is the next big one for our program after Ashley Joens graduates. I hope CyclONEnation can show her some love and our program can do a great job recruiting her.

Check out some of her highlights and interviews.

Thanks for getting me back on this prospect. When I saw back in November she had ten schools on her list (IOWA STATE, UCLA, Clemson, Duke, Louisville, Maryland, Oregon, Stanford, Texas, Vandy) I saw there's a chance, but a very tough competition-everyone of them is respectable to great. She knows Ames and is on All-Iowa Attack.

We all should practice pronunciation:): htthttps:

Kylie Feuerbach's younger sister Faith commits to University of St. Thomas, a school located in the Twin Cities. Mred has mentioned ISU is not recruiting her so this has no impact on our recruiting. UST athletic program will be moving from D3 to D1 this summer and join the Summit League. Their WBB program is a D3 powerhouse lead by head coach Ruth Sinn who's been coaching there for 16 years, including three NCAA D3 Tournament Final-Fours. BoxsterCy, if you are familiar with that program, I'd appreciate it if you could give us more info.

UST shouldn't have any issues moving up to D1. Other than the U of MN, it'll enjoy the best recruiting footprint in the state. Hockey will be its bread and butter sport since it'll be at the highest D1 level. Very strong alumni base up there

And a good academic school. CWW#2 got her masters there. Buddies daughters played volleyball at St. Thomas over playing at lesser Div 1 programs. They didn't have the size to play at Nebraska like their mother but were really good athletes.

I haven't posted in like a million years, but I couldn't pass this one up as a St. Thomas alum. I suspect they will be very successful in the move to D1. The aspiration of the school is to be a top-10 Catholic university and feel they have a gap on awareness - athletics is their way to be national. From a profile perspective (size, programs, ranking, endowment, etc.), think Creighton or Marquette. We've all heard of those schools, but it's due to their visibility on ESPN. Creighton knocks off top-20 team and it's big news; but the St.Thomas v. St. Olaf matchup doesn't get much national attention. (Go figure, HA!)

They have lots of work to do on facilities, in particular hockey, but I think they have the alumni resources to pay for it. As for recruiting, the Twin Cities location plugs a huge hole for mid-major kids who can't be Gophers but want to stay home.

Go Cyclones and now... Go Tommies.

Surprised to see fellow UST alums here! I’ve already donated to the hockey program. It’ll be interesting to see where it goes but they get to play Minnesota State-Mankato on “Hockey Day Minnesota” next winter.

News coming from Sioux Falls local newspaper. ISU 2022 top target Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda plans to announce her commitment in late August. It'd be huge if we could land this program-changing type of player.

I excerpt some important content below if you can't get access to the article.

Ranked 24th in her class and a 4-star recruit by ESPN, the 6-foot-1 wing is among the state's most coveted recruits with an initial top-10 list that featured: Clemson, Duke, Iowa State, Louisville, Maryland, Oregon, Stanford, Texas, UCLA and Vanderbilt. That list has changed in the months since (she declined to cite any specific updates), but with college coaches allowed to attend AAU events again, she could be hearing from even more Power 5 programs before it's all said and done.

"I've learned a lot from the recruiting process," said Mwenentanda, "It's basically just wherever feels right. That could be right when I step on campus, or it could be after talking to coaches and players."

"Zoom calls are really nice, but seeing people in person is just a whole different vibe," she added. "You don't actually feel how people are talking or what their energy is unless you actually see them in person. Being able to speak with them in-person and see the campus have helped with that."

As for a timeline moving forward, Mwenentanda plans to take more visits after her AAU season wraps up, and hopes to make her decision by mid-to-late August.

"I want to be able to focus on the school year once it starts and not have any distractions," she said. "The end of the summer is coming up quick, but that's when I want to officially make my decision."
