Carol had a pretty sweet poncho episode one of this season!

Not at all. The Cookie Monster is very deserving. "Come at me."

Pete's not so tough against a woman who can defend herself.

"THIS IS NOT MY HOUSE!" HA!

I've liked Carol ever since the first season. I've appreciated the way she was allowed to grow from helpless and dominated to strong and dominant. She's pragmatic & practical, and somewhat callous now, but I'm glad they allow her a little softness from time to time, however fleeting.

I lost it when she called Rick Sunshine.

When Red Poncho guy is standing with the two other guys outside the food distribution place, you hear the one say "Just be still...just be still...", which is what Wolf #1 said to Morgan before Wolf #2 tried to jump him from behind.

Ooo...just found a hole while thinking of Red Poncho guy. When Daryl and Aaron are "scouting" him, Daryl mentions him rubbing wild leek on his face to keep away the mosquitos. But, in the outdoor scenes, you can tell a) Everyone is fairly bundled up, and b) You can see their breath. I don't think mosquitos are a problem when it's that cold.

I thought the episode was very underwhelming for a season finale. The story line grew but the cliffhanger is so-so compared to the potential jaw-dropper it could have been.

Agree. "Meh" for me too.

i was really hoping for Gabriel to be blown away.... he sucks.

i thought Glen was a goner.... that would have been shocking.

Terrible timing for Morgan to see Rick doing Rictator stuff.

To be fair, Rick ran into Morgan at a pretty terrible time for Morgan, near psychopathic after his walker wife killing his living son because he couldn't kill her when he had the chance. What was that - season 3? Shortly after that was when Morgan started his journey.

And seriously, Carol knows how to deal with post-apocalyptic youth. "Look at the flowers." "Have a cookie." Can't wait to see what she does next. And little asskicker had better never mess with her.

They had on sweaters at night so I'm guessing it's probably getting to be late summer.
The drought before they ran into Aaron the first time was probably the hottest part of summer. They've been there a few weeks so I think it might be the end of summer, when it's still hot during the day (with bugs), but it gets cooler at night.

However they did say during the walking dead that in real life, when they were filming, that it was getting cold.

You could see their breath during the day, though. And that was an awfully heavy coat Carol was wearing at the campfire meeting.

Ehhh...nothing to get my panties in a knot over, though.

a couple of things:
1. When Rick fired his gun at wife beater dude: Wasn't someone holding him down? Not sure if it is smart firing a pistol from long range at two guys and one being the intended target? Did he really kill him?
2. Ay significance on Wolf guy pointing a unloaded gun at Morgan?

When Rick fired the shot at the end, I thought he killed the wife beater but then wondered if he maybe shot the husband in the head so he wouldn't turn. I thought the Wolf guy's were just desperate and out of ammo.

Yes, Abraham was holding him down. And I thought the same thing...even though Rick was close-range, that was a bit risky to do.

Great point, maybe he did shoot Reg instead, although it makes more sense if he shot Pete. I'll have to re-watch it.

BUt wasn't Captain janeway lookalike holding her husband in her arms then Rick whipped around and shot towards abraham and wife beater?

Yes. I think he did shoot wife beater but I for a second I thought maybe he put the husband down permanently. I don't remember what they showed after the shot.

Eugene specific question/discussion with minor spoiler from comics:

I love Eugene's character in the comics and the show. He's a coward in both, a nerd in both, but they push it much further on the show to the point of making him completely worthless in a pinch until recently. Specifically when it comes to guns on the show it's as if Eugene has no idea what to do with them. This is interesting since in the comics he eventually saves the crew with his former hobby of making his own ammunition (not that far fetched, I know a few guys who have this hobby). I wonder if they are still going to do this on the show but paint Eugene as the kind of guy who in his previous life went to the gun range every day but in reality is a huge coward and could never have actually used a gun?

You can tell they are starting to make his character stronger in the show and we're about a season away from where he would make ammunition. I don't mind posting this very minor spoiler with tags because the show and comic are so different even with main characters being dead or alive, so anyone getting bent out of shape, settle down.
