Walking Dead

Time for "look at the flowers" Carol to reemerge.

Favorite part of last night's episode. Carol baking a cake as all heII breaks loose. And then 30 minutes in Carl stops what he's doing to pull the cake out of the oven.

I don't get the whole, cut off their arms and take them away as walkers. Why? Accomplishes nothing. If you wanted to take over Alexandria, should have brought more forces and not been obsessed with hacking off arms.

Even with the force they took into Alexandria, they could have eliminated everyone in the town because there were only a few willing to fight back (AND who were sufficiently armed...AND trained to use their weapons). Go through, kill quickly, THEN go back & dismember. Leads me to believe they are a pack with no true alpha, and their behavior is more like feral dogs than wolves. Wolves tend to be organized and purposeful in their hunts. Feral dogs are disorganized, and often hunt simply for the pleasure of killing things.

I agree - they aren't smart enough to have a spy...but it was a major mistake for Morgan to let the five escape. At least the guy didn't take any ammo with his gun, although that begs the question...WHY didn't the wolves have guns? Surely they could have scrounged them by now, either in abandoned homes/stores, or from their victims.

I think their "intel" came from the pictures in Aaron's backpack.

That was one helluva episode.

So the Wolves... not very organized or smart in their attack. Initial plan looked good, but stopping to hack bodies apart instead of securing the town is not what an organized group that intended to take the town would do. Almost like they are just a bunch of psychos out to kill rather than take Alexandria for themselves. And apparently they are like the only group of people who are unable to find guns and ammo. Interested to learn more about them.

I resisted the urge. You must have watched Talking Dead also! ;)

That was even brought up in one of the "Talking Dead" bumper segments - that the Wolves' raid on Alexandria was real-time, and it took 45 minutes - exactly the amount of time it took for that casserole to bake.

They are lucky this was the Wolverines or whatever they are called. If the Governor was still alive he would have had control of Alexandria within 5 minutes.

The spy? I think it should be pretty obvious that it is Carl's girlfriend.

1. She would leave the compound for no apparent reason (presumably to plan with her cohorts).
2. She said the place was hard to defend because of so many blind spots.
3. She was the only one not surprised/panicked at what was going on outside.
4. Defended the wolves by saying they were just people, in spite of the atrocities they were committing outside.
5. When she was back to back with Carl she said "we got in". I'll watch the encore to confirm.

The show is certainly trying to make that conclusion obvious, but it could be a red herring. What doesn't make sense to me is a group that attacks the town like a pack of wild animals has a spy.

Yes, it did a good job of showing that is what life is like now. Mass attack by people, take care of business, go back to life.

No ****, there are more guns than people in the USA and they can't find any? When this stuff goes on I have to remind myself to resuspend disbelief and not think about it too much.

One thing I didn't get with the episode was that the horn goes off and Morgan is there within a few minutes, so they weren't too far from Alexandria, and the walkers were drawn to the horn, but the walkers never showed up. They shouldn't have been that far behind Morgan.

But didn't Rick send Morgan back last week, well before the horn started?

Yeah, that's what I got from that scene. Otherwise, I don't think Aaron would have been left looking so despondent after finding his old backpack under one of the Wolves' bodies and taking out the photographs he'd carried with him of the town.

Did he? I don't remember. If so that makes more sense I guess. But how far away can you hear a horn as loud as Rick did? It couldn't have been too far.

In the absence of ambient noise (city noises, cars, trucks, etc) you can hear a train whistle a good long distance away. If we go with 3 miles (that's how far the crossing is from our house) and the walkers move at their normal shuffle, it would take them several hours to get to Alexandria, minimum. It's only been about an hour since the horn went off in show timing.
