According to her Instagram account, Kiersten Schmitt is transferring to UC-Santa Barbara.

And ISU has received a commitment from this DMACC MB. She is from Norwalk:

Did a check of players leaving, Kiersten Scmitt’s name was added. Seeing how little she was used towards the end, it was almost expected.

No news on where Emily or Reaghan are headed.

Picking up 3 would replace them.

Didn’t see anything posted yet. Hoping at least one setter and another Opp/hitter with height.
According to @CVBTransfers, setter Ava Martin is transferring from San Jose St to ISU (she is probably thrilled to get away from that cluster):

Bobbitt is transferring to North Carolina. Larkin is going to Austin Peay.

Hopefully it is a sign that our recruiting is stepping up. Kiersten have her sights set on some beach volleyball? UCSB is an awesome campus setting on a small Mesa overlooking the Pacific .

Per CollegeVBTransfer, she is a 5’11” OH. A Redshirt Junior.

Now to find some highlights. See how she blocks and can help on the offside. Nice to see a few areas addressed.

I do wonder if we will pull any other San Jose State players.

She averaged 3.45 kills per set which was second on the SJSU team this past season.

Roster appears to be filled up with 3 outgoing players (Babbitt, Larkin, Schmitt) and 3 incoming transfers (Martin, Ti’a and Brenizer).

This year there is a roster size increase. It went from 12 scholarships to 18 total rosters. That could give a little extra room. Based on injuries this year and Nayeli coming back from injury (Maya should be healed), we may need extras.

They are at 18 now by my count:
Returning players: 11 (Stonestreet, Bobbit, Schmitt, Larkin are leaving)
Incoming Transfers: 3
Incoming 2025 Signees: 4
Total: 18

It will be interesting to see how Abbi transitions from DMACC to ISU and if those numbers translate. Ava could be added to the list of libaros that find success at ISU. As for Nayeli, it will be about how the coaching staff handles all these hitters. Maybe they will leave Rachael as a hitter or move her to being a back row specialist and help develop another back row hitter to be opposite of Faith.

No matter what, new season and hopes the nets are ever in their favors.

Ava is a setter and will presumably back up Brandt.

Rachel was actually the starting libero over Stonestreet at the beginning of last season before she got injured and later had to move to OH due to the Duckworth and Gonzalez injuries. She is probably a lock to be the starting libero and very good at it.

As you suggest, CJL will have plenty of front row options including the incoming FR OHs, Bettis and Goolsby. Obviously Gonzalez is a wild card due to her lengthy rehab process and hopefully Duckworth also can finally get back to 100%. Neither Bettis or Goolsby or the other two 2025 FR appear on the Spring roster so I am assuming they will not start training with the team until this summer.
