He was brutally honest yesterday about everything. I recall him saying at one point that "ISU fans wont like me for this". He defiantly has a Big 12 bias, but I dont see it for one particular school.
He does have a Big 12 bias, but it's amazing that it doesn't center on Oklahoma. His son played there. I don't know if I could be as fair as he is.
Not even close. ESPN suits are letting Vitale and Bilas cherry-pick their own games this year. The result is Fran getting bumped off Big Monday several times.

I used to like him, but I guess now that I'm older, its just schtick and not much substance. His outbursts and yelling seem like "hey everyone, look at me!" More than having something intelligent to say, even in an entertaining way.
I used to think it was me getting older too, but then I caught a game from the early 90s on ESPN Classic that he was doing and realized that he wasn't nearly as obnoxious back then. He actually used to call the game, but as you said he now is all about making sure the attention is completely on him.
I guess I haven't noticed that but he did have vocal chord issues a few years back so that could be the case. I was really wishing he would hang it up then....no such luck.
I have a question for all the Vitale haters. Would you rather have some of the other options? I mean I don't even know how someone could prefer having Dakich or some of the others over Vitale. I mean Vitale isn't as good as he used to be, but some of the other options are just brutal.
No, but thats not the point. The one constant to ESPN Big Monday for the Big 12 the past 10 years has been Fran. Whether its been Ron Franklin, Bobby Knight or Musburger, Fran has always been there. Its a god damn travesty that ESPN is messing with that.
Well I completely agree with that part. I was just talking about for other games.
He had the same vocal chord surgery that Adele and a bunch of other really good singers have had. Its a nasty surgery and he's lucky at his age that he can speak at all.
