Vikings trade for a WR

jesus - Camarillo is a good receiver people. Granted he isn't Sidney Rice - but Sidney Rice was Sidney Rice until Favre started throwing to him. Gregs been doing this in the wildcat with a rookie throwing to him.

fantasy owners should not that Camarillo led the league last year in catch % among receivers with over a minimum number of catches. 90% & 0 drops- TO could only wish to have his hands. If he gets opportunites he'll put up big numbers in Minny. (Note: this is coming from someone that hates the Vikings)

Packers fans can talk all they want, but they haven't beaten us since George W. Bush was president. Losing Rice is a huge blow, but it isn't crippling because Favre spread the ball around more than any other QB last year. Maybe the Pack should work on that D that allowed 51 points in a playoff game and that patchwork O-line they have and I'll worry.

LOL to that whole posting. One horrid game (granted a big one, but to rip the D, really?)

Vikes should not be overly worries on losing Rice. Keep in mind the number of unknown receivers that played with Favre that quickly became "household names". It's a decent list...but it's also foolish to think the receivers were "made" by Favre. He did definitely help their careers though.

To me, it will be more about the power struggle (or perceived power struggle) between Favre and Childress. Will Childress try to pull Favre from another game (see Minny vs Carolina 2009)? Or will he get in the way of subbing or calling timeout on a momentum drive late in the game where Favre has the defense right where he wants 'em? (can't recall the game, but I vividly remember Favre trying to give the "stop sending guys in" to the sidelines as he wanted to hurry up the offense)

Childress is like a 5 year old boy playing with 15 year old boy toys. Sure, at times he can handle it - but a decent number of times he's just in over his head.

Did you just post 2009 stats?

Here are the key ones...

2-0 against Pack
NFC Central Champs
First round bye
NFC title game

How do the Packers compare in those?

Neither won a super bowl so I'd call the season a wash. That's all that matters, isn't it? That's what the Favre-fanatics always say.

In reply to a poster calling out the 2009 Packers defense? I sure did. Not sure how you can rip the #2 ranked defense in the league and pin the season on them.

Let's throw out the only one that matters.

0-4 in Super Bowls.

Ah got yah. I thought he was ripping on the Oline. Re read....my bad

4 in Detroit (including their 0 win season). Now 2 in Chicago. 1 in Denver. 1 in Atlanta.

I'd say a pretty good representation.

Well, it's good enough to make a blanket statement not backed in any way whatsoever by facts or logic. Otherwise known as emotionally driven, in case you're not catching my drift.

Seriously, Vikings haters will latch onto anything they can these days. Not that it's hard to pick at them, but at least acknowledge what you're doing.

Trust me. It's not emotionally driven. Many of my friends are Viqueens fans, and almost all of them agree about the fan base being fair weather.

The Dome, just like it was for the Twins, is one of the worst places to go to an NFL game... so I can't really blame them.

We can agree on one thing - the dome is a terrible place for a football game. Shockingly bad in fact.

It is just my opinion that no matter how good you defense is statistically, it is no good if it allows 51 points in the most important game of the season. There is no game more crucial than your next playoff game, and they gave up 51! They didn't just have an off game, that is beyond terrible. They failed when it counts.

And before you criticize the Vikings playoff loss to the Saints, consider that it was the NFC Championship game and if you lose in the wildcard you have no room to talk. That game came down to turnovers and having our QB pummeled after throwing the ball and once after handing it off)

Just because two teams both don't lost the superbowl doesn't make the season a wash, especially when one team dominates them in head to head record, playoff seeding, playoff wins, and overall record.

Edit: I would rather have recent success and a Superbowl in my lifetime than your multiple superbowls back when helmets not made of leather were the cutting edge and the forward pass was just catching on. I'll give you '94. You are one up on us. But the Lions were a powerhouse in the 30s and 40s. Who cares.

Then you go on to talk about the Vikings losing in the playoffs, but make excuses for it.

And if you want me to start nitpicking, the defense didn't give up 51. They gave up 45 against one of the better passing teams on the league without playing without one of the better corners in the league (Al Harris).

It was one ****** game, no doubt about it. But for the YOUNGEST team in the NFL last year, they made one hell of a comeback to force OT. A lot to build on from last year.

It was '97. Also appeared in '98.

Last appearance for the Vikings was in '77 I think.

If you want to count recent NFC Championship appearances, we can go there too. Packers have 4 in the last 15 compared to the Vikings 3. 2-2 for the Packers, 0-3 for the Vikings.

Talk about uninformed... You realize that it is the NFC North that your team plays in right? Hasnt been the Central since 2002
