***Video Board Renderings Released***

To answer the questions without quoting them.

1) Yes I live in Omaha and it matters not in this discussion other that Omaha>Johnston anyway.

2) I think its awful because the structure holding it up does not fit well with whats already there and looks so brutally utilitarian. All I can think of is Traffic signal trusses and latice cell towers, yuck. They can do better.

The spreadsheet I see has it at $20M, which is right in line with what a lot of other schools are spending on facilities like this (weight room, locker room, coaches offices, meeting rooms, players lounge, possibly athletic training/medical facilities). I think that Florida spent around $22M, Utah was more like $15M, but Tennessee was spending $34M. It's going to be a stand-alone building connected to the IPF. My only question is how they get the players into the stadium on gameday...whether they build a tunnel or what.

For the scoreboard, I really think it is going to look better than the renderings show and it will make a huge difference at JTS. I do wish that they would have something like the tan concrete block going up about halfway (to the level it is on the side of the Jacobson). Metal panels probably wouldn't look quite as good, but they would do. Otherwise, they're going to need to put a fence around those supports because some drunk-***** is going to climb them and fall.

You are correct. I looked at the wrong project. The new building does show a total of 20,000,000. I wasn't even thinking about locker rooms for some reason. Good question on the players getting to the field, because that would be quite a change.

Yep - only traffic signals and cell towers use trusses and lattices...

You're a ******. Those are all that come to mind when I look at the rendering. I did not say that is the only place they are used. Also, that rendering has it used in a more artful way. The current proposal absolutely does not.

Guess it takes one to know one, doesn't it? Then again, I'm not the one that has completely dismissed it as total crap based on a couple of Photoshopped drawings...

This thread should be used for an "ethnic" cleansing -- most notably those individuals who thought ISU's score was -45.

Living in that dump has clouded your judgement. What does it say about a city when the best looking
residents live in the Omaha Zoo gorilla compound?

The supports will probably end up looking very much like what runs the length of the indoor practice facility. There will probably be some continuity with the east and west side facades built a couple of years ago. It will all tie in.

No, I can recognize one either way.

I have dismissed what has been presented. If I'm presented with more information, I can change my opinion. I suppose since you are arguing the point, its ok to be sold completely based upon this same simple set of pics?

For the record, I never said that someone (you) can't like it, or otherwise not share my opinion. All I did was take umbrage with you twisting my statement to try and make me look unreasonable for having a different opinion than you.

Actually, based on the rest of the post following your first sentence, you do a pretty good job of being a ****** yourself. Glass houses, buddy...

And second, bull****:

That's not referring to you thinking "the renderings are horrible" - that's referring to "the whole idea sucks and they need to throw out the idea and start from scratch."

Anyone that thinks the actual picture does this scoreboard justice is a complete idiot. The thing will be absolutely perfect for the stadium.

Can you two please stop your **** measuring contest? What was a thread about the new scoreboard has devolved into you throwing insults back and forth to each other.

That is what jdoggivjc does. He's the supreme overlord and imperial wizard of this message board. He's the world's foremost renowned authority on every possible subject known to man and he's never been wrong about anything. He's also a "last-worder" and would sooner have his pancreas removed without anesthesia than allow someone else to have the last word.
