Vegas Trip

Responding to my own post...
The Allegiant Stadium ticket link redirects to UNLV Athletics which is not currently selling seats. Which is no surprise, because ISU wouldn't be selling single seats yet either, waiting for season tickets to resolve first. I've read that Allegiant Stadium only seats the lower bowl for UNLV games, but I don’t know if that’s a hard-and-fast rule. I was at the previous ISU-UNLV game (2008?) and UNLV fans didn’t seem to pack the stands. This game might be like a Liberty Bowl vs. Memphis situation. On Vividseats, good seats, somewhat comparable to my Jack Trice season ticket seats are currently $300-400 plus.

I'm making plans to go with my parents. We're booked in the Mirage right now. Flights out of Seattle have been consistently between $170 and $200 but I'm tracking prices with Google flights.

Southwest tickets direct from DSM went on sale at 8:30 this morning, by 9 it was sold out.
Good thing I checked. Got a direct flight for Mrs. Gaggi and I on Friday, but have to fly thru St. Louis back to Des Moines on Sunday.

I got the directs both ways, Thur - Sun. But price went up $100 while I was typing my CC in. It went really really fast.

I still plan on making a road trip out of this game. I haven't taken a good road trip in about 6-7 years, I'm due.

I had Southwest dollars to use from a cancelled trip last year. Ended up deciding to fly out of Omaha for a much cheaper price since Des Moines was sky high. Even in Omaha after I booked it went up 50-60 a ticket like an hour later.

I spent right at $1,000 for out and back tickets for the two of us. Plus an additional $150 in taxes and fees.

We're flying out of KC on Spirit for around $150/pp. With luggage will be more like $200 but a lot better than the 500/600 I'm hearing. And we got rooms at the Luxor about a month ago for about 85/night.
