Billy was on the radio a month or so ago and refused any comment on Vanloo. Response to the question - reasked by a later caller - was pretty glib.

I think ISU as a whole should stop taking chances on kids overseas. It almost never seems to work out in the end.
From what are under stand the n c a a is not the issue from her in rolling in college her coursework should be good to go. Again if I recall correctly we are waiting on her government slash sports authority to a release her and it would be june or july before we heard anything
Actually the NCAA was the issue. Here is an article from ESPN on the subject...
Iowa State recruit Julie Vanloo not cleared by NCAA - ESPN
I think he's saying the NCAA isn't the issue this time.
haven't heard for sure, but latest we heard was she was still deciding between going pro in Europe(lucrative offer in hand) or coming to ISU(was told was cleared by NCAA but don't know if a fact), and that she was leaning heavily to playing in Europe at this time.
Too bad if she doesn't show up. I felt that BF really had it set up for at least 3
years in the front court with Nikki, Emiah, Kidd, and Vanloo.
Not too mention Williamson and Buckley. Right now, looks like our guard court even without Vanloo is pretty good, though I would like to see another wing with size.
It is our post situation that I have ???? about after this year. Pop and Anna will be very hard to replace.
If she never wanted to play in the states, she would have taken a pro contract last year instead of spending a year at university in Belgium.
She signed with a Spanish pro team---straight from BF's mouth
