But really, who brings facts to an internet argument psh...
Both schools recruit, get over it. Just like that small school that was won 80+ baseball games in a row. They have kids that transfer in all the time. It's just a part of high school football now.
Just because a kid goes to Catholic school for four years doesn't mean that he wasn't recruited, they just got to them early. You think High School coaches aren't aware of who the top 7th and 8th graders are? Or other players and parents? Most of the rectuiting is done by the kids and parents, often at the request of the coach... There were multiple area schools trying to get my brother to transfer and my ex-wife experienced the same thing in the Cedar Rapids area.
Catholic schools recruit 100% of their students 100% of the time. Again, you can't name a D1 recruit from a Catholic school who isn't Catholic. Are you intimating that Catholic schools are paying tuition for athletes?

What a great thing to teach high school aged kids-- If things aren't going well in your current school just up and leave your coaches and teammates. That should serve the kid well in the real world.
And we wonder why so many college kids transfer anymore...
Because I could give a damn what religion they are...
Name a D1 recruit in the last five years from a Catholic school in Iowa that wasn't Catholic.

This is why I admire Ankeny for their decision to go with two smaller high schools instead of one huge high school. Unlike West Des Moines, our community chose to do what is best for the kids instead of worrying about all the state titles our football and basketball teams will miss out on.
As for Valley- If you are a talented player with potential, why wouldn't you want to play for the school with the largest exposure in the state. The list of D1 athletes they've had over the last several years goes on and on. Besides our own Patrick Neal, I can't think of any of those guys that didn't go to Valley all 4 years. Not saying there isn't one, I just can't think of any.

Read the rest of the thread. in 2013, Ankeny High is splitting to Ankeny High and Ankeny Centennial. ACA has no bearing on thisif you are talking about splitting to Ankeny an Ankeny Christian that's a very weak argument consiering ACA enrollment is around 50 and Ankeny is around 1000...hopefully I'm forgetting somebody else that's a horrible argument
I heart this thread.
Catholic kids go to Catholics schools...THEY RECRUIT!!!
Kids open enroll to Valley...no big deal.
