***Utah Game Week Discussion Thread***

Given how much injuries have decimated our roster this season, we should all be elated that we're sitting at 8-2 right now. ANY additional win from here on out is just gravy.

Hopefully, we go into Provo with a loose attitude and we let it rip.
Agreed, I think the wins that kept coming even though we were injured gave most (including me) a false sense of reality. After enough film on the young guys, the teams (Part UCF, TTU, and KU) were able to adjust and have the upper hand on them. Looking back, we (I) should have been more cautious. With the wins coming with the injuries it had reset expectations to "we're winning the natty!"

I still believe.

So a couple of questions, does Utah have a good run game or does CU have a good run defense? If the former, I could see us dropping 8 more.
With Rocco having a case of the over-throws sometimes, will the elevation have an effect?
I don't think our O-Line is that bad, we had some decent holes that went for good yardage last week, its just the failures stick out more, and being predictable. Hopefully Mouse will get back to old ways and call some options and audibles.
Also Rocco needs to step up in the pocket, rewatched Cinci and there were a few times he got sacked where there was room in the pocket but decided to try and scramble instead and line couldn't contain without holding.
Also looking at the way Singleton was holding his hand, looked like a broken arm/hand, if so I could see him coming in with a cast, and probably his call if he wants to play,

Their run game sucks.

Rocco is absolutely seeing ghosts back there. Causing him to miss reads. It’s fixable though. But Utah dline is good.

Just watch Rocco's feet in the pocket. He is hopping up and down in the pocket, even if it is clean. If he wants to play at the next level, he has to get that figured out.

happy feet no doubt

I foresee a game similar to the Iowa game.

Iowa: Total Offense rank is 101 & Total Defense rank is 26
Utah: Total Offense rank is 98 & Total Defense rank is 23.

Oh cool!! So prepare for another Iowa game, then??

McLaughlin should be more up to speed Saturday so that's a plus. Has anyone heard anything about Brezina?

Any chance Ben Brahmer is back this weekend, or the K State game? I thought I heard that he has been practicing.
When I saw him on the sideline vs Cincy, he definitely didn't look like "a guy a week away from playing" if you're picking up what I'm putting down.

He was in a walking boot last weekend on the sidelines. No crutches.
I wonder if that's purely precautionary or if this is a different injury than the one vs Baylor.

He had been getting limited snaps up until the Cincy game. It'd be huge to get him back, especially with McLaughlin now playing. Adding Brezina to the mix would really help shore up our LB group.
