Plus their onscreen cgi playclock sucks, twice already I thought the "7" was a "1" thinking the offense was about to get delay only to see a "6" appear next. Bad stuff.
Fox has had that problem for a long time. The shot clock in bball was way off last year. It was mentioned on this board several times.

I'm a designer so that stuff really gets at me. A few times the thing has covered up a reciever.

I see where you're coming from 100%. At the same time, Fox has been more innovative than ESPN for a long time how and has always been graphic heavy and skewed toward mass entertainment appeal.

I agree 100% the team name typography is hokey, and it's borderline jarring and definitely unnecessary for hardcore CFB fans like most people on these boards, but for kids and casual fans I can see highlighting the actual mascot names having some unexpected value and appeal. Selfishly, I think it will be kind of cool to have 'Cyclones' paired with the I state logo that admitted has nothing to do with a Cyclone.

Add that to the stand alone aspect without the ESPN sports ticker we have all become accustomed to and the over-the-top dramatic commerical transitions and turned up call style of Fox announcers, I actually don't mind having an alternative to the sanitized ESPN style that can become stuffy and impersonal pretty easily.

Yeah there was a day where ESPN and the older networks looked so stuffy and Fox did fun stuff that pushed it all forward. I don't think this will be one though haha.

There was a move about 5-6 years ago toward really sharp simple flat graphics as opposed to the stuff that was all light sourced and three dimensional which exploded in late 90s. Really liked that and pretty much every network and sport has gone to it. It looks fantastic in HD/4k.

Florida has no excuse to not be better than they've been since Tebow left. Embarrassment of riches in that state.

That's fair. I see what you guys are saying especially with the playclock thing. Probably a miss.

Fox design style is synonymous with the late 90s for a reason. Especially with sports. No one has ever accused Fox of taking a less is more approach, that's for sure.

Florida hasn’t had a decent QB since Tebow. And no, Trask wasn’t that special. To have Mertz be your best is admitting defeat before the game starts. Dude has been one of the biggest busts of the past 5 years.

I saw his 'debut' in mop up duty a few years ago and physically he stood out but he never got it together once he became the guy.

Nice shanked punt. Am I the only one thinking this looks familiar? They look pretty effective at times that don't really matter and have nothing to show for it, completely falling apart when it matters.

They are going full Iowa State. You never go full Iowa State.

Is the Utah kicker the one that originally committed to Iowa State? Went to Colorado, then transferred to Utah?

Watching these PAC 12 commercials about the conference of champions is, in the words of HST, kind of like listening to an eerie trumpet call over a lost battlefield.

Wonder what Walton will do with it all splitting up.
