More I think about it, I think he's a terrific fit at USC. Also seems like he might prefer the west coast over Oklahoma.
I could also see Rattler following him to LA.
Venebels was at OU before wasn't he? He will be an option.
Me either. Riley is leaving for a reason to take a job that Campbell apparently turned down.
Sounds like he’s recruited a lot in California while at OU. Probably is a great fit for him.
I think the better comparison is arkansas -- probably will have a decent program, but it will be more difficult to field a perennial championship winner
many of the strategic advantages that they had in the big 8/12 are now gone, so the job will be harder

Riley may think OU didn't get their normal calls from officials in last night's Bedlam game. Well, OU sure as Hell ain't getting those calls in the SEC either. Combined with avoiding the SEC West - just as well go to USC where he can get paid & be the big fish in the PAC12 pond.

There has been some talk that he could be a LSU candidate.
Stoops has it pretty good at UK. Makes a ton of money and doesn't have a ton of pressure there to win big. Now maybe he is tired of reaching probably the ceiling for that program and wants to move on to one that has a legit shot of winning big.
If OU misses on this hire they could be permanently in the middle of the SEC going 8-4. I have a hard time seeing them going for a guy who hasn’t quite gotten over the hump on conference titles and who has zero SEC ties. Think Kiffin has to be on their mind. Also think Aranda is another call.

If he can swallow his pride (doubt it), he seems like the type that would like LA and the stupid large NIL deals that USC can provide, which was my thought process.
Probably more likely he goes pro at this point.
