Upset Special Excitement...

But if we end 3-9 with a upset that will mean we will have a 2-10 record if we dont get the upset. So yeah the upset is important.

Is this the thread where we discuss that the 'yearly upset special' is somewhat of a myth?

Sure, OSU was a huge, huge upset. And Nebraska was pretty big as well, even if it was a fluke of a game.

But in retrospect, Texas was the worst team in the Mack Brown era, and TCU was just highly overrated to begin with, and they finished their season 3-6 including their loss to us. Another one that often gets included, Texas Tech in 2011, was only ranked because of a fluke win against OU, their only other win in conference that year coming from Kansas.

To answer the original poster's question: this would be the third biggest surprise win in the rhoads era for me. First would be Okie State, w/ second being @Nebraska (only because the starting RB and QB, which was the base of that team, were both out for the entire game).

This would be a pretty monumental upset and I will be pretty excited if we lose by less than 20 and keep it at least interesting for 3 quarters.

I put some serious money on this game. If Iowa State can't cover, I will be a sad and broke panda.
