Which is weird. I’m sure there’s a formula but us dropping 9 beating Iowa but Arkansas moving up 9 beating a bad Arkansas state team is odd.

It's because our metrics were not good at home against an opponent that FPI does not respect. The outcome isn't the most statistically relevant component of FPI.

We dropped 4 spots in the Massey composite of practically every ranking/rating of which FPI is like 5%.

Still #16 though which is very realistic since KSU and USD didn't have great weeks either.

The thing about all of those metrics and computer rankings is they use previous year data to get started and how fast do they remove it all. USF is still 41 in the average of all rankings so there must be a massive amount of last year's data. If it was just this year they'd surely be top 25 pretty easily.

FPI is a terrible system. I'm sure Herbie and the crew will bring it up at the end of the year to screw the Big 12.
