This years squad isn't going to get pushed around by Iowa's fake tuff guy act. I just hope the officials let them play and we don't let Iowa live at the free throw line.

Won't get pushed around but they need to not respond either.

I'm sure Fran has it drawn up to go shake Conditt and Gabe early.

I think this will be the biggest key to the game. Will the game be called like the first 35 min against Creighton, or the last 5 min against Creighton? ISU will get taken completely out of their element early if they draw a referee crew that is whistle happy

They will absolutely go right at Conditt right out of the gate. I do think that this years squad is right mentally and won't get sucked into their game.

This is a great point. They were letting us be really handsy with Creighton.

So, if our expectations were lower at the beginning of the year, but now we are achieving all our goals and more, would it be an upset if we beat Iowa on Thursday? I never thought we would be here so quickly.
Depends on the line.

And we should go right at joblow The whole game. Make his life miserable. Face guard him. He’s a whiny little bitc* so hope his bad attitude rubs off on the rest of his teammates.

Yeah I’m wrong. When I heard he was out until Illini game I was assuming that we were the next game.

They have an unusually compressed stretch of P6 games for this time of year. Very odd to have @ACC, @B1g, B1G, @B12 this early in late Nov/early December without it being part of a tournament.

They will be sitting pretty if they make it through 3-1 or 2-2.

Right now, Iowa is ranked higher than Iowa State in almost every computer ranking. See: Computer Rankings Composite

I hope we beat Iowa and cause the computers to adjust themselves accordingly with the new information that provides. If we lose, people on here will start talking about "not handling our ranking" or some such nonsense, when in reality it probably means Iowa was underrated by the AP humans.

Remember that many computer rankings still have some residual data from last year for up to another month. See NET rankings.

I'm not worried about it. We are held way back by what is in there yet from last year. Even a loss to Iowa and our clones will still be in the top twenty by the end of non con. Just don't slip up on Mizzery or worse yet one of the pud u's and its gonna stay pretty steady.

If we had one more big I'd feel better about the game and the season. Jones is not good.

I like Jones' spunk. His role is mainly fill minutes at the 5, he isn't a big offensive threat.

You know what'd be fun? If he had to play more minutes than usual vs. Iowa, then he goes off for 19 points (including like 9 of 10 from the FT line) to help fuel a W.

(Not making a prediction -- just a pleasant fantasy I'd like to see).

He knows his role, which is good. And he does give good effort. I just wish he could drop 1-footers in more consistently when he has the opportunity.

Nice ranking fun to be there again and yet some thought the TJ hire was not impressive. A lot of season left I know, but it’s fun again.

I wish that for the whole team.
