Trying to make sense of march madness is pointless. They choked against a turd, it happens. Its happened to every team that makes the tourney regularly. We're one of those teams now, relish in that when the sting of butthurt goes away.

Niang was hand checking and impeding progress with his body all game, as were Morris and Long just like we moan and complain about Frank Mason doing. ISU failed to show up and got beat by a bad team. Nothing to do but deal with it and root for the zags.
The moaning is not about hand checking and body happening, it is about it being called inconsistently. That was still true this week as well.
Mehinti got two early fouls and we had no answer for that 260 pound pork chop in the middle. They beat our brains out in the paint. I was hoping that Alford's shot would be off and he would keep jacking threes after hitting nine against SMU, but he made really good decisions with the ball. They fed their bigs very effectively. Bad day at the office for our guys.
Since we're such a horrible team, I do have some good news for you though. You might get a chance for some payback next year.

Lots of whiners here since the game, but I think most ISU fans recognize that you've got a good young team. Hope to see the rematch
I guess we'll see. The way that link reads we have to get by Illinois to see you. I don't know if that is correct, and I'm not sure we can do it twice in a row. I just know that we'll bring back most of the team. They'll be a year older, with another year in the weight room and at the training table. We only had one senior who got significant minutes.

We'll bring back most of our team too. You didn't get our best game by any stretch, so our guys will be hoping for it.
Same thing with the regular season conference title. Stars pretty much aligning and fail to capitalize. They gotta make more of their opportunities, they aren't given them all that often.
Seeing what could have been makes me feel sick. Oh well, I guess that's why they call it March Madness
