85? Yowza. Good for you. I have a 75-inch Vizio in our basement that has given us zero issues. We actually have mostly Vizios throughout the house, a few minor issues here and there but overall very good value for the $$.Anyone got any recommendations for 85 inch TV's? The technology seems to change so quickly that I've gone full-on cheap with TVs. Been perfectly happy with my low-priced Insignia and Roku-branded TVs. Also had a Hisense that was great till I dropped it.Anyone got any recommendations for 85 inch TV's? Looking to upgrade my garage TV, where we watch games most of the time. TIA.

I still have a Dynex from almost 15 years ago that works well. My next big TV will likely be one of the cheaper brands. The technology seems to change so quickly that I've gone full-on cheap with TVs. I'm a Sony believer, the Google TV OS is just the best I think without debate. I was never happy with my last Samsung, and it got sluggish as hell after a couple years, no similar complaints about either of my Sony's.

Good point, I have a chromecast on my LG. Easier to navigate than the LG interface although my kids seemed to figure it out easy enough so maybe it is a user thing.I personally would go with something with an IPS panel for your purposes as you'll likely have a wide range of viewing angles. I have had multiple LG TV's with IPS panels and had great luck. They are also pretty cost effective these days as the OLED are their premium models. Their built in smart system kinda sucks but that can be avoided with a relatively cheap Roku or Google TV.
I haven't bought a TV in 5 years but I did way too much research on rtings.com prior to purchasing. All the information there will about make your head explode.
Bingo. Also, my recommendation is to not go crazy unless your garage is heated and you can keep it above freezing.
