Who does everyone think will be the biggest contributors this fall of the true freshmen?

After watching Jay Jordan last night.... I have to go with Willis Singleton. I went back and watched his highlight tape from last fall in high school..... and OMG.... he is going to play this year..... and quite a bit possibly. And that is pretty unheard of for a true freshman at the DT position. Kid is going to be a beast.

And next year we bring in Howard Brown too. These two will anchor the DL for years to come IMO.

As for others.... I think Cole Pedersen and Ar'Quel Smith have a chance at LB... Daniel Jackson at WR.... and TJ Tampa at DB.

Hopefully we won't need to play Bouman or Dekkers at QB except in mop up duty, but one of those two will likely be the #2 backup.

As for RS FR..... it sounds like we should watch out for Corey Suttle at DE as maybe someone that nobody has heard much about yet.

Obviously Hathcock, as he's probably a 4 year starter at LS. We're likely to see more TRFR playing than ever just because of the change in eligibility rules and players in quarantine. My other guesses:

TJ Tampa - I feel like he's a future all-conference player.
Willis Singleton - I'm guessing he's in the rotation right away.
Dekkers/Bouman - One of the two is probably the backup QB. Hopefully neither have to play meaningful snaps.
Cole Pedersen - Could very well be in the two-deeps immediately.
Daniel Jackson - Is good enough to play, but there are a lot of guys ahead of him.
Chambers/McDonald - Both have college ready bodies. I think at least one will be in the initial two-deep.

Singleton goes by “J.R.”, by the way.

(Willis Singleton Jr)

I noticed him listed as J.R. on the roster. He can go by whatever he wants if he's as good as people are saying!! Prince Singleton? King Singleton? GOAT Singleton? I don't care.

Posted this article on this a while back but it mentions... Singleton, Bouman and Dekkers, and Pedersen.

Everyone has to be prepared to play given the odds of a COVID outbreak on the team.
Yes, MartyFine, we’re aware of that. We’re talking about who will be contributors regardless of that factor.

Boy, do you insist on living up to your username.

I hope its Tampa. The secondary needs to improve for this team to take the next step IMO
Well, let’s see. What were the problems with the secondary last year?

Star: Eisworth was hurt, played with one shoulder
SS: Braxton Lewis was hurt, Bickham didn’t adjust well in the switch from playing corner at Rice
CB: Datrone Young was slowed by injury all year. Tayvonn Kyle took over—who had been a WR a year before.

Solutions?
Star: Eisworth is back to full health.
SS: Isheem Young and better depth.
CB: Datrone Young is healthy, and Kyle has another year at cornerback under his belt. So we have three corners with starting experience who should all be good.

Considering T.J. Tampa played WR last year, I’m not going to expect him to come in and start. Shoot, I’m still not sure if he’s lining up at corner or free safety.

As I recall, all players have the option for an additional year because of COVID-19, so I’m pretty sure the four game limit is irrelevant this year. If I’m correct about that.

I believe that is correct.
