Tristan Enaruna PT

So do I. When I watch him play, I can tell there's talent and gamesense there. Like, you can see it's almost clicking and there's more potential to be unlocked. He's a great piece for us and I don't think we've seen his skill cap yet.

If he finds the 3 again and keeps the work up inside he's going to be a problem for opponents.

Hoping tonight calms everyone down.

This is old news. Everyone is freaking out about Jones now...

As I said in another thread, TJ knows what he is doing, and is using these games to fine tune things and try to figure out an offense. Some guys fit better against a team than others. FWIW; Jones is not ever going to be the answer on offense. There may be a little more to why he didn't get in on a blowout game, but I doubt it is serious. Maybe he was late for practice.

The next step in his development will be to instill some true aggressiveness. It's the step that Ochai Agbaji FINALLY added to his game this year for Kansas and it's the difference between being a decent college player and reaching the top of your ability level. He probably thinks he is being aggressive but he hasn't discovered that next gear yet. Hopefully Enaruna finds it and figures out how to play at that level more regularly. I am a big fan of what I think his potential is; I hope he reaches it. That level with that frame would be a sight to see at the college level.

I think TJ has settled on his 8-man rotation and wanted to give those players as much experience playing together as possible.

the way Conditt hacks, there will be plenty of minutes for Jones when we get into conference play.
Then he should be used primarily on defense and to get rebounds. He will have a very hard time making any shots with the defenses he would be facing. Even if he gets fouled the best you could hope for is one out of two free throws. I don’t think he’s ready yet for playing time, but we will see.

Against smaller teams, Kunc is just a better option at the 5 than Jones. Problem is, there aren’t any more small teams on the schedule. Most Big 12 teams would punish Kunc inside. Jones is 5 fouls and that’s it.

Kunc is almost afraid to go inside at times. Still need any guy making half his 3s on the floor as much as they can. Guy knows how to take a charge, so that might stop some of the bruisers from just running him over.

My biggest problem with Enaruna is he often played soft with the ball. Physical teams could just take it away, especially on rebounds, I think he has all kinds of talent if he can be tougher with the ball. It has to be a learned skill in large part, doesn't it?

I agree some what. He needs a mean streak. He tries to be to finesse, sometimes you just need to go up with bad intentions.

I tend to think toughness can be coached. Going up strong in practice leads to going up strong in-game. Just have to get the right practice bodies and drills in place to teach it.

He might not have the stats for it because of the slow start but I’m thinking he may be our other all big 12 caliber player. Still too early to say how Hunter responds to B12 grind.
