Not sure how “lol TJ” could even get us to 10 wins and now we are a NCAA Tournament team. Yeah it sounds like a good faith argument by you.
Probably about time to switch to a different account. Will the next one be your third or fourth user account; I’ve lost track.

Just make out already.

One to give this year, "officially" out of scholarships for next year.

Of course, I imagine TJ fills #13 this year *and* signs 3-4 guys for next year.

I am sure the numbers will work out just fine as they always do.

I also like that TJ is landing transfers that have some time left on the clock. He's not landing a bunch of one-year rentals before going back to square one. Kunc and Kalscheur have two years they seem to intend to use, and Grill, Jones, and Enaruna are going to have three years to play (though Grill needs a waiver to play now).

Guys better get their butts in gear if they want a spot on the team for 2022/2023.

Well, if there was a coach who might be able to pull it off...

How is his recruiting class going for Utah?

2021 Utah class (so far)

2021 Iowa State class (so far) plus retention of Hunter and Foster

Utah has no commitments for 2022 while TJ already has Lipsey.

Yeah, I think TJ is winning this battle.

He had a few nice games. He scored 21 in Austin, for instance, with an ORTG of 119.7 and TS of 60%.

He had a few other nice games, but he just bricked shots so hard most game he wasn't really playable.

Which kind of sucks for a guy who was sold as a shooter...

FR = 40.8%
SO = 33.6%
JR = 26.6%

Taking 94 threes while shooting a 26.6% clip isn't viable in the Big 12.

Utah landed former SDSU and UNLV (TJ guy) David Jenkins. Plus he got his former Utah St point guard to follow him to Uth. Jenkins was a MASSIVE pick-up for Smith. But outside of that. TJ wins by a WIDE margin

21-22 you have Walker listed twice and no Jackson.

Confident we'll add 3 more besides Lipsey in 22-23.

That is strange 247 doesn't have those pickups.

And yeah, those guys look like some nice pieces, but they're no better than Hunter and Kalscheur.

That is before you account for the other guys TJ has landed.

I'd bet good money some of the Prohm holdovers won't be back for 22-23.

I suppose getting to be the guy embarking on a full rebuild in a place that was recently winning at a very high level in a year where transferring is basically unlimited and highly-abundant is a pretty good situation for a fresh coach to be in. Glad to see TJ making the most of it so far, and doing so pretty damn fast.

This never gets old! I laugh every. Single. Time.

It's starting to venture into Big Lebowski territory for getting funnier over time and ability to be applied to so many situations.

He also has a ton of experience in transfer recruiting.

I wouldn't disagree with you there. The talent upgrade is real and the competition will be fierce.

I cannot find the exact quote, but paraphrasing something that Chuck Noll said when he took over coaching the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1969, a bad team in the 1960s who won four Super Bowls in the 1970s...

"Fellas, the reason the Pittsburgh Steelers have been so bad is most of you are either slow, weak, old, or just plain not very good and, frankly, to get better, I'm going to have to replace most of you with better players."

The fact we need to replace nearly all of the roster that went 2-22 to get better shouldn't shock anybody. I hope some of them might be able to stick for being good teammates, students, and hard workers who accept most of their contributions to the team are going to be in practice, but TJ is building a wholesale new roster here.

But why do the new ISU basketball program commitment graphics use duplicate offset layers of the word "Commited"? Why must they create a visual "shaken" effect? Is the student-athlete a bit shaky and not 110% committed? What does it all mean?

P.S. Welcome, Tristan. Let's kick some butt in Hilton.
Personally, I’m more than a little lost on the font for the “Loyal Sons” in the football commitment graphics (I assume the SID is doing both).

Both then, maybe I’m just old and not hip enough.

Why?

He has already graduated. He is already 22. It is not going to be a fun season in Iowa Chitty next year. He isn't going to improve his professional chances playing for the Hoks next year. He loses a season that he could get paid to play basketball.

If he hadn't already graduated I could see it happening, but I can't for the life of me think what would be attractive about coming back.

Get your point(s), but alot of players like Weiskamp tend to stay at Iowa all 4 years. I dont feel he'll worsen his draft stock by staying either. I'm not knocking what he does one way or the other. It was just a gut feeling.

This won't be popular around here but a 6'5" guy who shoots 50% from 3 is exactly what this team needs... I'd take him in a heartbeat.
Where he comes from is irrelevant to me. The “injury prone” is what would make it a ‘no way Jose’ for me.

But I’m not paid to make those decisions.

Hasn't coached a game yet but I don't know how he could have done better here in the short term.

Needed a guy his size. Great job by the staff.

Top 60 coming out of HS. I guess it's up to him if he wants to put forth the effort that gave him that rating. Averaging 2.6 ppg in limited time at KU doesn't scream.....watch out. But ratings saw something......and so does TJ. Hopefully the change of scenery brings out the best in him. And is it me or does that picture of him in an ISU jersey remind you of Nadar?

Well there is no guarantee that seniors like Conditt, Johnson, or Kalscheur will automatically take their extra year, is there?
