Kind of weird that his dad was able to analyze his shot and help him fix it mid-season, but the coaching staff was not.I don't know, read the article in the Register. Something about the starting point maybe? I think his Dad pointed it out and they spent time working on it before the Kansas game.

As much as I'm not a Prohm defender, it's probably pretty difficult to tell someone who you've been working with for 6 months what's wrong with a shot they've been doing all their life, especially when they're a good shooter. I'd imagine most of his shooting problems were in his head than in his form. IMO confidence is the most important piece when it comes to shooting and his dad probably knows what to say to help him.Kind of weird that his dad was able to analyze his shot and help him fix it mid-season, but the coaching staff was not.

Interesting, I figured Fred messed with shots just based on how much Garrett's form improved under him. When it comes to shooting, I just want to see consistent wrist flip and a straight arm on follow through. I see so many people finish their shot at their shooting elbow has an v in it. It's hard to stay a consistent shooter when you have a kink in your shot like that. Look at the best shooters like Korver, Allen, JJ Reddick, ect.Even Fred was hesitant to mess with guys shots. And then the funny thing is that Monte has become a significantly better shooter after leaving ISUwith the help of Mark Price (Denver's shooting coach and a great shooter himself), but the rest of the Nuggets do not seem to be benefiting as much with his help. It's both a science and art and while Chip Engelland is a savant, I think it's something that's very hard to coach.
