Tre Jackson steal percentage

Reminds me a bit of Monte in that aspect... Always had a knack for using his hands quickly to force steals even as a freshman.

I was just encouraged to see that he had noted a flaw in his shot and started to correct it. It might mean that his good shooting on Saturday was not a fluke.

He's pretty good defensively in general. Quick, good hands, good awareness of passing lanes and space to occupy. His worst issue by far was the poor shooting -- if SAT was the breakthrough on that, he heavily changes this team's dynamics. Doesn't fix all of them by any means, but makes them less one-dimensional for sure.

I thought the Oklahoma game was probably his best game in a Cyclone uniform so far, and I think the above shows I was right. He definitely played well.

He keeps being a threat from the arc it's going to continue to open things up.

No doubt Jackson's upside is higher. I'll be encouraged if CSP shifts and focuses more on development by increasing Tre's minutes and less for Nixon.

I would generally agree with the youth movement --

Haliburton is way too good not to play 35-40 minutes per night, but Bolton, Jackson, and Conditt are the future of the program right now. I thank Jacobson and Nixon for their service to the program, but their careers are starting to wind down, and it is not abundantly clear they are better than their younger alternatives.

I am not sure playing the young guys even hurts you this year and, given how important experience can be, it probably helps raise the ceiling for next year.

A lot is going to come down to next year. We'll go as far as Bolton and Conditt can take us, considering the construction of the roster we will have next season.

Watching Tre you can see he has the physical skills to play at this level (quickness and speed mostly is what I mean). You can also see he is still a bit lost sometimes. In short, he looks like a talented freshman who is not quite ready for prime time yet.

It does remind me a bit of Monte, and I would expect his minutes will wax as Nixon's wane.

If/when Bolton and Conditt decide they want to be great players this roster has some potential.
I don't think that's the case with either player. Their heads are definitely there, they seem to be team oriented, and neither have egos that would hurt the team. They're both only sophomores and Conditt is just getting his feet wet and hasn't even scratched the surface as far as how good he's going to be.

What is the shooting flaw and correction you speak of?

I don't know, read the article in the Register. Something about the starting point maybe? I think his Dad pointed it out and they spent time working on it before the Kansas game.

The shooting flaw was the fact that they weren't going in. Jackson commented about his shooting and said he's always been a great shooter but for whatever reason the shots weren't falling. He said although he was struggling, every shot felt good and felt like they were going to go in. That's a good sign.

Oh there's an article? I just saw singular quotes. I saw that him and his dad went to Hilton to get shots up but didn't know that he thought he was doing something wrong in his form.
