Totally not his style other than the three times he’s don’t the same thing to McCarney, Jackson and Rhoads. But other than those three instances, totally not his style.
Having been around these things many times, I just can't fathom a situation that forces the announcement before the end of the conference tournament. I'd imagine around noon the Monday after the Big XII tournament.
I do believe all issues are probably already settled. JP has to go to work on the NCAA tournament committee that same week. The announcement will come soon enough.

That's almost as funny as the TV announcer last night saying" There is no one better in the nation than Steve Prohm at scoring after time outs." Obviously he didn't watch any of our other games this season. I typically hold my breath till we avoid a 5 second call. Let alone worry about scoring. I'd love to see stats on how many times we scored on first possession after a time out this year.
In the six years Prohm has been here, I’ve seen two, maybe three times we’ve actually ran an out of bounds play where we actually got the ball in AND scored as a result of the play

Pollard isnt going to upstage the conference tournament and he will probably avoid any dates that concern the womens teams. Pollard is smart enough to understand when to pull the trigger. If i had to guess I would say a "mutual parting of ways" would occur the wednesday before the start of the tourney.
Conventionally the reasons would be when 1.) delaying the announcement impedes the pursuit of the next coach and 2.) for the sake of the student athlete.
The former is not too likely an issue in this particular case, but unless they’re withholding telling the roster of the agreement, it’s a tough spot to have players know the agreement and not announce it soon after. Think of Randy asking players questions about Prohm’s future. And if an agreement has been reached, it would be respectful to tell the players as soon as possible so they can reach out to potential landing spots. Perhaps that’s how Jamie and Steve want to handle this

That is the case for assistant coaches looking for new jobs and used to happen with Head Coaches. But most Head Coaching interviews occur within 1-2 weeks of the prior coach being fired. So AD's no longer wait until the Final 4 in early April.
A lot of times AD's will hold interviews for multiple candidates at a single location like a hotel or office space. They like to do so in major metropolitan cities with a big airport so they can discretely interview candidates.
