Really good moves IMO. We were pretty bad at ST and OL and appropriate changes were made. Manning was decent at OC, but he probably has some new knowledge, and should be much better. Give Heacock what ever he wants. He's a cornerstone to the program. The Manning vs Gasser thing and run game coordinator assignment makes me believe what I've been hearing - that MC wants to have a run oriented offense. I'm Ok with that as long as it works - and it didn't last year. MC has won coach of the year 2 years in a row despite a spotty record on offense and ST. He should get a 3peat with these changes. The buddy system is still in place here regarding coaching, but if it makes MC more comfortable, why not?

Probably a stupid question but I will ask anyway. Who is now the RB coach?

I have to wonder. Scheelhaase helped bring in two four star talents for his position room in yjis class.

Two. For one running back spot.

Huh.

So..,three wide receiver spots. Can we expect him to land six four-star wideouts in the 2020 class?

(*I’d settle four three five-stars. Don’t want him to
Strain himself right out of the chute.)

Coaches don’t recruit a position. They recruit a territory.

I'll be looking for Manning at the game today as we have a key QB recruit on campus.

WTF is this? Normally I’d dismiss it but reporters don’t usually write this kind of crap without hearing/knowing something. But then again, it’s the DMR.

I've personally thought about this as well. I wouldn't be surprised. My thought is Manning will be here either a short period of time or a long time and will take things over. He will be a head coach sooner rather than later. imo

Lots of wild speculation there. Guess he covered all the bases, so he can go back and say he had some insight I guess.

I tend to not out much stock into it. I mean, in the freaking article he writes about hearing the Manning rumors around the Alamo Bowl - where were those articles??

Didn't think this deserved its own thread, but I saw today that we didn't renew Gasser's contract. Does that mean Campbell didn't want him on staff, he wasn't a good coach, etc.? Just wondering if any details came out about why it wasn't renewed

He wanted to be OC. Campbell wanted Manning. They parted ways.

I think some of these guys were a bit of a disappointment because Purdy really targetted Butler a lot, probably too much at times. Also, for the first time in a long time ISU has TEs that can catch the ball. Milton is a great player, and will be getting a lot more targets next year.
I'm going to go ahead and say it. We have the best TE's in the conference next year.

Do you actually "know" this? It seems plausible, but I haven't heard this from any source that I would expect to know, such as C-Dubs.

Seems like something Campbell would tell you in confidence, and wouldn't want released publicly. Would make sense for Williams to know and not say anything.
