Interesting. We was so visible a year ago on the sidelines. Seemed less so this year.Yeah the S&C coach is a weird one to me after all the praise Campbell had given him.

partially. a reason they are false starting and holding could be because they are getting beat. they are getting beat because they arent strong or fast enough to stay in front of the defender. It is S&C coaches fault that we got all those false starts, illegal procedures, and holding calls.
The last couple of Bruns podcasts suggested that the zone blocking schemes were a train wreck. Not sure how S&C has much effect on that...The blame for lousy OL play must be being placed squarely on Andrew's wide shoulders. Sounds like lack of strength and conditioning is what is being communicated as the issue rather than the blocking scheme or lack thereof.
I understand your point, but poor S&C of the players can lead to those things. Not saying that's the case at ISU, but it could be a contributing factor. It is S&C coaches fault that we got all those false starts, illegal procedures, and holding calls.

Not sure if it would have worked for a whole game, but when ISU was going fast was about the only time they actually moved the ball this year. So much shifting and going in motion that did absolutely nothing but make OL stay in a stance forever. Just very frustrating to watch the team this year, but in general, the same stuff has been going on for years, ISU skill players were not able to overcome it this year.Speaking of those false starts in the context of strength, conditioning (and agility), what is it like to be on the offensive line in 4th quarter on a passing down with the game still winnable?
You break from huddle with the play from QB, get into the 3 point stance, wait for QB to assess and man in motion to reposition, but then the audible from the sidelines comes in and various position adjustments and motion have to occur. Meanwhile you're still hunched over for the 40th time in the game, trying not to flinch while hoping you know which of the potential ~5 defenders is going to try and get around you.
Seems like like the more drawn out your plays are (motion, audibles with position changes, long snap counts, whatever), the more fatigue the offensive linemen would have to endure. I wonder if there are more false starts as the game progresses.
Told ya!along with Strength Coach, Dave Andrews.
