This. They spotted the ball at about the 33 yard line, even though he fumbled the punt at about the 30 and then got tackled even further back than that.
I haven't watched my DVR of the game, but I also recall a throw that Rohach made into the end zone where our receiver was fighting to get past an OSU defender on a crossing route to get to the ball and no flag was thrown. This was in the first half, I think on Rohach's first drive. It was an obvious PI and far worse than what Tribune had been flagged for when the OSU receiver fell down on his own.
There were several calls that should have been made against OSU in the first half but weren't, and several calls made against us that shouldn't have been made. The Big 12 really needs to get this cleaned up.
Here's a question I have for all posters.
To start, I agree that the hit on SBR was the right no call.
HOWEVER, if that were a big time QB...Braxton Miller or Marcus Mariota...you think there is a foul call there?
I think thats what is making some fans mad. While I believe it was the right no call, I think if he were a higher profile, a flag would've been thrown.

Worthless conjecture at this point.
Based on how ticky-tack they were calling things OSU's way today, they should have called this one for safety's sake, but it really would have been hard for the defender to let up.
I don't even think he made the 30! I wanted to say they mispotted that ball by 8 yards
You are correct in that it should've been PI. However, once you see it on the DVR you'll see that it was OFFENSIVE PI!
Good one. It was definitely a DPI. The receiver's progress was impeded by a defender who was not making a play on the ball. That's defensive pass interference.
No one is blaming this loss on the officials but you have to be blind or stupid to not see that they are making horrible calls against ISU and horrible non calls for the other teams on a regular basis.
Can we all just agree on that?
While I may tend to agree with you, considering this is cyclonefanatic and ISU just lost, I feel like I should disagree with you and insult your mother and intelligence.

That was the correct application of the rule. The quarter (any quarter) can not end on an accepted, live-ball penalty.
The only flag that was especially bad was the incidental contact PI flag on Tribune (when he had his back turned to the defender). The hit where Sam got hurt was not the defender's fault - he was already diving to make the tackle when Sam began to slide. (Although, I can also see the argument that the league has seemed to say contact to the head needs to always be called, no matter how justifiable it was.)
One call that went our way but prob. shouldn't have was the block-in-the-back on the OSU punt return for a touchdown. Was more like "gently laying hands on someone's back."
We're just still hurt from the Texas debacle. Were the ref's responsible for 273 missed tackles & 152 dropped passes?
There was 1 bad non-call and one bad call. Not the reason we lost the game, but still frustrating not to get those calls go our way

The defender hit him at head level, if the defender was in the act of tackling before Sam was sliding, why did the defender not extend his arms to tackle? This is a joke every week. Glaring referee mistakes, I mean really obvious.
AND THAT CALL DIDN'T COST US THE GAME.

Sorry My co Isu Fanatic I think you are mistaken. Watch it slow OR watch it fast. It is exactly the same as an inadvertent 15 yard face mask penalty. He needs to be called for that.

He saw Sam slide in front of him and if you watch in slow motion did nothing to avoid contact.

Its beyond "bad luck" at this point - we are getting bent over and straight up raped with no lube in some of these games. Add that to our ****** team and its explains us being 1-6 and having given up 130 points in the last 2 games.
I'm just trying to stay optimistic that one of our good teams will actually catch breaks from the refs. We could have gotten 3 dozen favorable calls today and still lost this game.
