Tiger Woods DUI

Not sure why but I've always been a Tiger guy flaws in all. When he had that amazing run, there was nothing like it in sports. Then you also see the human side of him and the demons he's battling. Hope he can get the help he needs.

I’m lucky…it makes me sick to my stomach.

My dad (RIP) got some when he had surgery…

“This is some pretty good stuff…I can see why people like it”

He drank as a HS kid, but never more than a beer or two after my brother and I were born.
They gave me that after my back surgery. Took one, felt crappy, never took it again. Luckily my back hurt so much prior to surgery that raw dogging it afterwards was not a big deal to me.

We don’t know that. He could have more skeletons in his closet than an Oxy addiction that he’s been able to keep a secret.
I guess it's a secret for people who are just generally aware of Tiger Woods but it shouldn't have been a secret to anyone following golf and the people who cover golf knew this. The guy sweats like he came off Heroin 48 hours ago, his speech is incredibly inconsistent, he often looks like he's zooted, and his history suggests this. In 2017 he thought he was in California! Now, it's pretty easy to see how this could happen just given the amount of operations he's had and the pain he's had to manage over the past 2 decades but this isn't new and the guys around pro golf acting like this is a one time thing and that they're sad their hero is dealing with this are dorks. He could have very easily killed someone 3 times by now and that's just the ones we know about.

The guy is a transcendent athlete and competitor. I think he's also pretty competent in business. He's done a whole hell of a lot through his centers for kids. He's also deeply, deeply flawed and tortured in many ways (Thanks, Earl!) and I would suggest reading the Keteyian and Benedict book to see how he got there. If people want to have empathy, have empathy for may 20-30 year old Tiger. This Tiger is where he is because of his own decisions, no one elses.

Same. Prescribed once while I was in college when I had my wisdom teeth removed. Luckily it wasn't terrible pain, didn't even use half the prescription. Be lying if the thought didn't cross my mind to sell the rest for beer money, glad I didn't.
They gave my mom some Oxy after her kidney surgery. She never took them. I told her I could take them down to the local high school and make a pretty decent profit.

Far as I know, can’t get a DUI on a golf cart. And if that is NOT true, I have some serious life changes to make
From the Google:

Yes, you can absolutely get a DUI or DWI for driving a golf cart while intoxicated. Because golf carts are motorized vehicles, they are subject to the same traffic laws as cars in most states, meaning operating one with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of or higher is illegal.

Key Considerations
  • Location: While most commonly enforced on public roads, you can still be charged with a DUI on private property or a golf course.

We were standing right by the tee box on 18 at the old Quad Cities Open (it was actually hole 9 but they rerouted the course for the pros).

There was a minimum 20 minute wait because everyone refused to not hit driver and the landing area was about ten yards wide.

Everyone was hitting their seconds from the trash in the ravines off to the side.

I kept track, Jon's twenty minutes was 3 Marlboro Lights and 2 Coors Lites.

…ten light years wide? I think that even I could hit that fairway!

Anyone getting the help they need is a good thing, but my frustration is him making it sound like this is a wake-up call. It's an image and brand decision. To your point, he didn't just get a prescription last week. He could have sought treatment at any time. His not guilty plea, while probably strategically sound, just reinforces the lack of awareness and remorse in my mind.

I'd be happy to be wrong, but I don't see this being the point where he changes.

Who knew Tiger had so much in common with stay at home suburb moms.

In all seriousness I hope he and everyone else can get the treatment they need. I have taken Oxy 1 time (prescribed) and it was so good I knew I could not ever use it again.
I'm totally the other way. I've had both oxycodone and hydrocodone and they did absolutely nothing - for either the pain or to get any kind of high. I'd get a bigger buzz from a shot glass of beer. When I had my dental implant a few years ago I didn't even bother to fill the prescription because there was no point.

I think many have the misconception that hydro and oxy are pain killers when in actuality they dull the senses to tolerate the pain--splitting hairs with the same results. If they don't work you are not taking a strong enough dose. I shattered my heal in a fall and some say that is as panful as can be achieved. I was prescribed hydro out of the emergency room and my ortho surgeon immediately switched to oxy. Don't remember the mg but went from one every 4 hrs to two every 2 to tolerate things. She altered my prescription to accommodate--for three + months, then to hydro, then to tramidol to wean me. You can't stay addicted if you don't have a source and the rich can find one. As a recreational drug oxy would probably be my preference

He’s been to rehab. The wake up call, if it wasn’t when he was awoken from his slumber on the side of the road in 2017, should have been when he probably should have died going to Riviera.

All that matters is he hasn’t hurt anyone else yet and still has a chance to go through life without doing that.

Short body camera footage. He ran into a stopped trailer.

I still don't understand how John Elway got away with his little oopsie

billionaires don't have the same laws
If they didn’t have the same laws…why would he leave the country?

W. Bryan Hubbard or Rick Perry implied on Rogan today that a high profile person recently in the news was going to undergo Ibogaine treatment for addiction. Only two came to mind. Tiger and Puka. Tiger fits better as it’s been seen to work very well for opioid addiction.
