Why not? So you’re saying our only options are mid major unproven coaches? Also don’t confuse drug addiction for phone posts.
Actually the only option right now is for everyone to take a huuuuuge step back from the computer / keyboard and take a very deep breath. Realize that this season is far from over and try to understand that Coach Prohm is going to put this team in the best position to succeed.

So far this year we haven't changed what we do or who we are at all because we've either beaten teams or kept it close in the games we've lost. This particular loss has to be an eye opener to the staff and also to the players. Self reflection from everyone is needed and the only way we're going to get better. I for one believe that we can turn things around and figure things out. Yes, we lost to Iowa and that absolutely sucks, but the season isn't over by a long shot.

For the umpteenth time...

YOU DO NOT NEED A PERIMETER THREAT TO ATTACK AND DEFEAT A ZONE.

Agreed, but teams go zone when they know you can't beat them from the outside. This is a basic basketball philosophy. Hell, Iowa knew our outside shooting percentage.. Why would they not go zone?? Quick passing, dribble penetration and finding soft spots in the zone on the baseline are just as effective, but we are not known for our passing abilities, as we play way too much 1-1. It's been the consistent comment by our TV announcers for too many games! If there's one thing I can blame on Prohm, it's this. I truly believe he thinks our shots will fall, but they haven't. I'm sure he will make adjustments and we'll see what happens from here.....

We lose to Iowa you need therapy? That is a you problem not coach Prohm. And if Iowa is the mark........then let's can coach Campbell while we are at it. At least Steve has beat Iowa. And I don't want to hear how tough it is in football. You can win in Norman, but you can't beat Iowa.....at the Jack....with much more talent....in front of sold out crowd? Matt has to go. Just like some are wishing for a Mcdermott lacky (T.J) to come back....let's see if we can find a McCarney lacky to take the reigns with how the season should pan out. Beat Iowa...........figure out the rest. Good plan. This sight was started with only one mission.......firing a basketball coach. One who followed a "legend". Well, looks like it remains true to it's roots. Maybe we can get a GMACer in here to "lose with integrity". Really muck things up. That's a good plan.

My wife, ever the optimist and avowed Steve Prohm advocate, last night: "Well ... there were a few good moments."

Seriously, I haven't seen a home performance like that since the McDoormat days -- and maybe not even then (I've blocked a lot of those memories). Even he's changed his offensive philosophy and style.
The Milwaukee game was just two years ago.

If you can’t see the difference between losing a game by a single point in football versus being down by double digits for 35.5 minutes of 40 minute game then I can’t help you. I don’t think it is the loss to Iowa but rather the fact they were not competitive throughout the game at home. In football terms this would the equivalent of being down 21-0 at the end of the 1st and losing 49-21. But it’s clear you have an agenda so by all means carry on.

BS!!!!!!! Keep telling yourself this lie if it makes you feel better about yourself.
I assume that means you'd have rather had ISU's guys last year than Zion, RJ Barrett, and Cam Reddish. Coach K didn't even go 15-3 and he had lottery picks all over the floor. Tech went to the title game and they didn't even go 15-3 in conference play.

Other than that, you have an intelligent opinion.

Central Iowa
Home winning percentage

Hoiberg .872
Eustachy .831
Morgan .800
Floyd .758
Prohm .753
McDermott .666

And Wayne Morgan at .800 got FIRED for McDermott at .666.....Unbelievable at best..."McDermott's not gonna make it at Iowa State, because he cant recruit black players.".....Quoting Johnny Orr

One thing I will say about Johnny Orr...He will say it like he sees it....

Your first mistake is comparing the ACC to the Big 12. Ok maybe not 15-3 but certainly enough talent to win the Big 12 last year. We ran Kansas out of the gym twice. Ran co-champ K-State out of the gym twice and won on the road at co-champ Texas Tech. They certainly had the talent to go 13-5 at the very least with a ceiling of 15-3.

I suppose you think last year was a masterful coaching job?

Come on. My problem is NOT that we lost to Iowa. My problem is that we got DESTROYED by Iowa. Cambell lost a close game. Big difference.

Yet you were here ripping on Campbell after that game as well.

You’re not really an Iowa State fan. We all know that

That's is the effect that losing has on the fan base. If Prohm doesn't lose at home, then he doesn't have to worry about the families of recruits being turned off by negative messages on Iowa State message boards.

Yeah you would never ever post. Like you vanish when Iowa state wins.

You mean like Chris Beard?
Watching the Big Dance last year, the first question that popped into my mind was, "When was Chris Beard hired at Tech, vs. when Prohm was hired here?" I'm gonna bet it went through a lot of minds in Ames, Iowa.
But alas, Tech got Beard one year after Prohm came here. Nothing to see here after all.

If he misses the tournament the next two years and gets canned, here’s Fred’s buyout schedule:

  • Year 1: $11.5 million
  • Year 2: $10.25 million
  • Year 3: $8.75 million
  • Year 4: $7 million
  • Year 5: $5.25 million

So ******* stupid.

fred left. He ain’t coming back. Hard to believe the ball washers are still holding on to this abusive relationship, Actually it’s not

You probably want to think this one through. If Jamie would have hired a guy with beards resume after Fred finally escaped, you and the crewe would have lost your **** there too.

fred had a lot of input into the hire.

After 41 pages of comments pure all the experts on here this is what we should do.. Fire him and also send all the current players packing as in the post game presser both solo and tyrese said they did not do what the scouting report said they needed to do to win. Then from this group of experts on here pick the new coach as they all know more about basketball than our current coaches. While I hate losing to that other school it is just ONE game in a long season. Go to work and finish strong.
