If they’re going to get equal money as Rutgers, Iowa, Northwestern and those schools they’ll leave and go to the SEC.

USC and Michigan are actively talking about going independent as we speak. That’s why I don’t understand how you can be naive and think they’re going to place nice and agree to equal revenue sharing.
They did not need votes to leave the conference, the other teams needed votes to change to equal revenue. Where are Ohio State and Michigan going to go if they would leave? Each league has their own rules to leave the conference. Why is FSU and Clemson still in the ACC if they could just leave? Because the can't, their media rights are locked up with the conference. No one is going to want a team, if they cannot show their games for years.
Why would the SEC want any of those schools? Why would they leave and take less money than what they currently are getting?
Ohio State and Michigan could go anywhere. They generate so much revenue that they could do independent or have their pick of conferences to join.
The SEC would pay them more than they’d get in the Big Ten in equal revenue sharing.

The B10 media deal does not run out until the 2029/30 season, to get out of the contract before then would cost each school hundreds of millions. Just because they can go anywhere, does not mean that either school is willing to do so.
Oh you want to go and be an independent, what network is going to offer them $100 million to sign them, and put their games on the air? Plus what university is going to give up being the B10 academic research dollars just because the athletic department wants to make an extra $10 to $20 million a year.
The haves in the B10 is going to float the idea of unequal sharing, the have nots will give some, more money on the bowls and the BB tournament, but they can't afford to give in the whole show and take less upfront. Doing so will sink many of their athletic departments.
You think Ohio State cares about sinking other schools athletic departments? They can do whatever they want and will get paid whatever they want. They bring so much value to any media deal.
Michigan and USC are CURRENTLY talking about leaving the conference. Notre Dame is getting $50 mil from NBC plus get paid from the ACC.
ND makes less than a B10 team makes from their media deal, and Michigan and USC are not ND, with fans all across the country. The B10 media deal goes for another 5 years after this season, so the Have schools are going nowhere for at least the end of that deal.
You can leave the conference and go anywhere is totally different than we are leaving. Sure the SEC would take Ohio State and Michigan, but if you are one of those teams, are you going to go from running the conference to being just another team in the conference, and playing Alabama, Georgia and the rest of the SEC teams week in and week out. Little harder than playing in the B10, and yes they beat Texas, at home in the first game of the year. Looking that their schedule this year, they miss both Oregon and Indiana, along with USC. They have played all the bottom feeders, they are talented but it's not like they are playing good teams every week.
They’ll go wherever they make the most money. Just like Oklahoma and Texas. Just like USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington. No school is going to avoid going to a conference with better money. We’ve already seen it.
They are in the conference that is paying out the most money now, they are calling the shots in the conference, and you think they are going to jump and become an independent or move to the SEC? Strange hill to die on, but here you are.
