Hi Cy88,
I've lived in downtown Chicago for the past 27 years and the more I think about the RV the worse the idea sounds. Would definitely not do it, Chicago isn't an RV/tailgate town.
- there won't be anything worthwhile within walking distance
- you'll be in a huge, fenced/barb wired lot...alone
- based on recent weekends in that area you'll hear gunshots(multiple). Heavy gang activity there.
- you'll get panhandled all day/night
Right before and after the games there'll be lots of people and cops around, 2 hours after the game you'd be on your own.
Its a boring area and just not a safe part of town. For the cost of gas and double parking you can drop a few bucks more and stay at a hotel in a happening/fun part of town, I suggest river north.
Don't want to see a Cyclone have a bad experience in our town.
