So they share with another conference and no one has a problem with that. Why does it matter if Texas has a network that shows all of their stuff? They can do it. They are one of maybe 2 or 3 brands that can do that. If Florida could do that, they would, and it would be no different than what they are doing right now, just more money. It's not like they partnered with someone in their conference.

Yes. He could do the same things. You don't think he would have liked to add OU to the PAC 10? He didn't though, right, so he doesn't have any actual power. This Larry Scott hero worship is getting weird too. He picked up two schools who actually may have hurt his conferences per school revenue. I don't see Utah or CU adding revenue greater than their share to the conference.

Yep. As long as we dont have a unified conference network and play like the PAC or B10, we will be facing this again. We get a 6 year rights deal, we'll be back here again in 4 years (intend to leave at end of 6 year deal) instead of just 1 or 2.

So when is the SEC blowing up? Sometime soon right?

I'm going to wait to see what deal they work out before I pass judgement on whether the Big XII works or not. I think that in the end the Big XII will work out. What other BCS conference do you see opening their doors to ISU if you're that down on the Big XII?

Outside of the remnants of a Big 12/Big East merger I think the only option would be Pac 12.
Hear me out, OSU and Tech will not get in there, neither would KSU. (academics) ISU would bring 3 million views (state of Iowa) to sell to TV advertisers, get in a pod with OU, CU and maybe KU this could form a decent regional network and help alleviate some of the travel issues with being part of a west coast conference.

Wow, ISU belongs in a BCS conference, there is no doubt about this in my mind. I am not saying ISU should do anything like that. I just hope JP will get a seat read in the Big East or the Tweast when the crap goes down again.

BTW, the same ones that are bashing on me tonight, were you the same ones bashing on me last year when I bagged on the Big 12 for being 'saved'?

Pretty obvious the Big 12 does not work...

Yeah, while your argument makes sense, all I know is ISU better win a lot more in the next 5 years or else the PAC would get severely criticized publicly for taking ISU because of academics.

PAC 12 would be interesting and comparable money. I'm not sure the folks on the left coast even know where Iowa is, though. We'd be a long way from most of the conference. A remnants conference from the Big XII and Big East would be lest prestige and likely less money. That'd work if JP had sat on his hands and not invested in facilities. I'm glad he's moving ISU forward.

Better geography, the best football conference almost every year, a much greater culture of equality within the league (no one like texas making terms for the rest of the conference members).

I think the conference expansion topic would literally be closed down, as far as armageddon goes, for at least three years if the B12 does get each member to sign over its TV rights.

I think that if OU and others form their own network for the Tier 3 stuff and once the Tier 1 rights are negotiated, the Big 12 will be even more stable...maybe permanently because:

1) Other conferences won't want to touch the LHN, OU's network, and anyone else with a significant Tier 3 deal.
2) After Tier 1 is reupped for a lot more money, add in the Tier 2 money, and some schools' big Tier 3 money...they won't be able to make more money anywhere else.
