THE pass interference call

Can anyone who watched the game on TV tell me about this crucial penalty. At the game it looked like a totally BS call. Don't get me wrong, I clearly saw LJ shove the K-State reciever. However I could not believe the flag was not picked up.

How bad was it on tv? Did the announcers say anything? I don't think Yao Ming could have caught that ball.:no:

The ball appeared to land out of bounds by about 10 yards. The fact the officials didn't take a moment to at least discuss how "uncatchable" it was, was the most disappointing aspect to me.

In retrospect, we get the call, they don't score 3, the rest of the game goes the same..We win.

That's the nature of the beast however. I really liked the way Rhoads handled this after the game, basically blowing it off. It works the other way too..

The ball didn't even land on the yard wide of white paint around the field. There wasn't anyone on the planet coaching that ball in bounds. Yeah the receiver got jacked, but he wasn't catching it without a step ladder.

CPR was hot on the official's *** after that call.

that ball was uncatchable and the flag should have been picked up - but the players have to smart enough not to just knock an eligible receiver to the ground in front of three officials.

I think if the receiver wouldn't have been jacked so blatantly on the play, the flag would not have been thrown.

This isn't an excuse for the officials because he wasn't going to catch that ball either way. Just saying in all the FB games I've watched...that gets flagged 99-100 even though the ball is obviously uncatchable.

The call probably should have been holding by the defender. I guess I had a problem with the pass interference because of the uncatchable ball, but if they called holding I wouldn't have disagreed. The fact that the receiver was hit so early really made it tough on the officials to call anything else.

From my vantage point (which was a good one), there was more tripping over feet than contact by LJ. Forget where the ball was.

It was a horrible call. The refs hurt us bad Saturday.

We played an inspired game against K-Strate, but bad luck and the refs ruined our chances.

Silly me. And to think I thought it was the two turnovers, the freak TD on K-State's last possession, and the blocked PAT were the reasons why our chances were ruined...

Silly to blame this loss on the refs. That call was a poor call, no doubt about it, but we had plenty of opportunities to counter that one bad call and win this game. I think we're playing sound football for the most part (clearly some areas that still need work). This team is a better team than last year, and for that I'm happy.

LJ jacked him. It was literally right in front of us. LJ jacked him big time.

I love how every game we lose is the referees faults. Why don't we just play within the rules of the game and we're fine. We earned every penalty we got, and LJ's pass interference, the kick catch interence, the facemask, and the unsportsmanlike conduct were ALL preventable.

I have actually never seen a coach get that close to the ref and scream him down without getting a 15 yard flag. CPR was killing the line judge. The guy looked like he was 25 years old.
The call was horse crap. I was in the front row and it happened right in front of me. I almost lost my voice screeming at the Line Judge.

Whatever the hell F is was the official who threw the flag from the pylon.

I'm a KState fan, but was at the game with 7 ISU friends, surrounded by Clones. I couldn't believe they called it PI. The ball was clearly not catchable and therefore the Pass Interference call was BS.

However, it should have been called Defensive holding or Illegal contact as the receiver was nailed farther than 5 yards down the field. Who knows if there would have been a difference in the outcome, but a penalty should have been called. Unfortunately for you guys, they called the wrong one with the most yards.

Are you guys sure it was LJ. I think it was Fred Garrin but LJ was right there and he was pretty upset too. It should not have been a penalty, however, it was so blatant that we can't expect it not to be called. That didn't cost us the game so don't go blaming the refs.
