**** Nebraska.I was just texting a friend my most hated teams list. of course the huskers were on it. iowa, texas, nebraska, ND. Looks like ND just moved into 3rd place.
I always hear people talk about how nice nebraska fans are to opposing teams fans. maybe I should let go of some of that engrained hatred?
Huskers essentially have 7 easy games to start the season. They will be ranked all season until November anyway. They should beat Iowa I would think. Their schedule is so easy, they could be a 10 - 2 team in the CFP. Don't laugh! That was actually pretty awesome. I have softened to younger Husker fans who don't know anything other than their team being one of the very worst, and their parents/grandparents trying to convince them they were good once. Moved to Omaha area in the late 90's and the environment around here after 20 years of futility is a lot different. Many good friends were just thrilled that they were 1-0 for the first time in many years. 2-0 will blow their minds.
They're "back" for this week after beating a horrible Colorado team. I'm sure the 50+ year old AP voters will vote them into or near the top 25. We'll see if it is fool's gold yet again.

We had season ticket holders sitting around us back in the day that would suddenly ditch their Cyclone gear for those games and show up all decked out in gobigred (which they would shout incessantly!). Felt like we were in the visitors section. Next week, back to Cyclones again.Back in the day we had to put up with the t-shirt fans who couldn't get tickets in Lincoln buying up every possible seat in Ames and being total ********.
Eff 'em
Are you from western Iowa? Growing up in CB I hated Nebraska more than Iowa mostly because it was the entire identity of a lot a people in the area. When the Omaha World Herald sports section has 2 pages in the sports section of only Nebraska stuff year round it gets old. I'd compare it to someone who's religious forcing their narrative down an atheists throat. We have a text group with Nebraska fan friends and they have always been supportive of ISU football. I dont get the hate for the Huskers that some ISU fans have. They were arrogant sometimes yes, but we would be too if we had experienced something like those 90’s dynasties
Iowa fans act like that without winning anything meaningul
The Big 10 move has been perfectly good for them. They got more money, their schedule got weaker, yet they get credit for having a tough schedule cuz Big 10.Have a lot of friends and family that are Husker fans. Most are now admitting the Big10 hasn’t been a good move except for money and are “intrigued” by the Big12 now that Texas is gone and Colorado is back.
The thing they are missing is they think they’d dominate the Big 12. Even though they didn’t while here and wouldn’t in todays Big 12.
I remember similar situations. Those folks were weird. And, I remember that in 2004--an ISU win--I was surrounded by the most vulgar people I have ever been around. Nasty, negative, mean "fans." I suppose the game was their one chance to see the N is for Knowledge College in person and they say their Big Red succumb to a surprisingly good Cyclone team.We had season ticket holders sitting around us back in the day that would suddenly ditch their Cyclone gear for those games and show up all decked out in gobigred (which they would shout incessantly!).
