Have a lot of friends and family that are Husker fans. Most are now admitting the Big10 hasn’t been a good move except for money and are “intrigued” by the Big12 now that Texas is gone and Colorado is back. They miss the Big 12 and they know it.

The thing they are missing is they think they’d dominate the Big 12. Even though they didn’t while here and wouldn’t in todays Big 12.
After a decade, plus of dealing with Hok fans... it makes sense they'd cheer for them to lose. This feels really dirty to me, don’t think I’ll ever feel good about support from Husker fans.
Signed someone that grew up in Western Iowa in the 80s and 90s only having Omaha TV stations.
Sitting through countless beatdowns in Ames and Lincoln as a kid and dealing with that fan base will make me forever hate them.
You are so right, and that's exactly why Iowa has become known as the fake ID of college football. It seems to me that just about every fanbase of bad to good-ish teams hates Iowa fans because they have such an inflated sense of self-worth.
The big boys (Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State) just don't care about Iowa because they're not actually a threat.
The way Iowa plays makes them very hard to beat by the mid-tier teams, but it means they will very rarely beat actually good teams.
They are nicer in their stadium than the away fans, who probably can’t get home tickets, although I have only been to one game there. Really had no bad fan interaction. Back when I was a student in the olden days, we were walking back to Towers with a friend who was a flag girl for the band. A couple of them tried to rip her uniform off of her until some guys walking to Towers caught up to us.I was just texting a friend my most hated teams list. of course the huskers were on it. iowa, texas, nebraska, ND. Looks like ND just moved into 3rd place.
I always hear people talk about how nice nebraska fans are to opposing teams fans. maybe I should let go of some of that engrained hatred?
Back in the day we had to put up with the t-shirt fans who couldn't get tickets in Lincoln buying up every possible seat in Ames and being total ********.We have a text group with Nebraska fan friends and they have always been supportive of ISU football. I dont get the hate for the Huskers that some ISU fans have. They were arrogant sometimes yes, but we would be too if we had experienced something like those 90’s dynasties
Iowa fans act like that without winning anything meaningul

Anyone in my era has hate for the fans who came to Ames. That was when they were really good and we were not. And it was an easy drive from Lincoln. Some games, I think that they may have had as many fans as us in JTS.We have a text group with Nebraska fan friends and they have always been supportive of ISU football. Where did you grow up. I'm convinced if you grew up an Iowa State on the western side of the state, you hate the Huskers with the fire of a thousand suns. And hate Iowa less. If you grew up on the east side of the side, it's the opposite. I grew up on the east side and while I strongly dislike Nebraska and have enjoyed the fact that they are a terrible football program right now, I have no problems happily cheering for them against Iowa.
