The batteries aren't as different from cellphones or laptops as you'd think: the cars by default limit standard charging to 80% or so of the battery - you'd go over that if you're traveling out of town.

Regarding the 40% range degradation when it's cold out: I wouldn't be surprised if that number is actually higher when it's sub-zero out
 
I think they'll change the body. That's just absurd. But I own a truck currently, and I'd take this at 40k no brainer. Not even a question. That said I've continuously said I'm not buying another vehicle until I can legally turn on the autopilot and it's 100% electric. So it'll probably be a while for me.
 
Pretty sure Cybertruck is just shorthand for Cy's Beer Truck. Or at least would be cool to dress it up as such. :)

I put down a reservation immediately. While it's far from the typical style of today, the design just makes too much sense with the super hard exoskeleton (that would break stamping machines), aerodynamics and cost considerations. If they can get full self driving (fsd) to not require human monitoring, it should become the most durable robo-taxi to own. Well worth the $100 refundable deposit to lock in the fsd price now (expected to go up thousands over next 2 years) and have the option to buy later. Fast, efficient, fun, versitile, and secure with best tech. Exactly the vehicle I want to own in a world dealing with a climate emergency. Will likely be upgrading from my pre-autopilot Model S (that rocks) to this.
 
Maybe 2 years I'd guess, given Model 3, which is now making close to 7k a week (but took a while to get there).
 
I've parked in these parking lots for 20 years now and trucks probably make up 1/15 vehicles. It's actually about 75% suv's. Although we do have 3 or 4 Tesla's.

Yeah and evidently if you work downtown you can’t have hobbies or something that require towing something like a camper or whatever?
