Terrence Lewis transferring

Okay then we should've kept all of those guys and just waltzed out the same exact team as last year then. Lol

Thank you! I dont see why people are so up in arms about Lewis and Griffin leaving when they struggled to get minutes on a 20 loss team. If Prohm can land a couple high quality transfers they would have struggled to get minutes even more next year.

Maybe Jamie said that, maybe Steve consciously evaluated everyone and said we gotta make some changes. Either way this is exactly what literally everyone wanted to happen, but when you dissect further than that people are getting upset. For us to get better next year, these guys were going to have to leave.

My only concern is Grill. But the next conversation about “leveling out the classes” is going to met with zero sympathy. The biggest issue is that this recruiting class essentially has to replace the last two recruiting classes as well.

Let’s be honest it is a cluster**** and if this year fails then the next hire will have to be A+ or we could be looking very easily at 5 out six years missing the tournament.....which really means that if we reach that point we will have become a Bottom 15 Power 6 job.

I support all these young men.....thankful they came here and wish them the best.

Obviously JP has LOTS on his plate now with all the stuff happening NCAA wide and impact to ISU....BUT, this has just deteriorated. Recognizing JP may have some "pride" as it was his hire, his extension, etc, he has to be wondering how to spin it....losses...at home....bad losses....players leaving professionally is one thing (and you can then say he's a good recruiter), but players just leaving begins to erode it all.

JP also is a business man and we saw how there was the tipping point to move on from CPR (and that was his hire, extensions, etc).

ONLY chance now is if the NCAA gives seniors an extra year nad Prohm builds and elite senior transfer team, lol.

Wait you actually think Prohm wanted to keep both of them? Zion Griffin is left handed but you wouldn't know that because he can't dribble with either hand and 90% of his shots were so flat that the defense knew to run to the front of the rim when he shot. Lewis was so bad defensively that opposing players demanded the ball when he guarded them.. Prohm didn't want to keep either of them. If they decided to leave on their own, all they did was make it easier for Steve.

And I really hope we're able to find guys better than those two because we were down to 8 guys at the end of the year when Bolton went out, and Zion and Lewis STILL struggled to get playing time.

What part of my statement made you think that? I literally said “even if” he wanted to keep them, indicating that I did not believe that’s what he wanted.

I’m not saying these were great players either, I just believe Prohm needs to hit 3 or 4 homeruns for next year not to be an atrocity, and I just don’t see it happening. I hope I’m wrong.

That phrase is retired in today's world.

I am taking Shayok if you offer me him and only him relative to whatever else the Prohm administration might come up with the next few months.
Even getting one guy who could fill it up would make a big difference for this team.

Just yuck. Everything is yuck. Grocery stores empty, towns are becoming ghost towns, sports cancelled, people getting sick, players transferring, cold and rainy day. Yuck, just yuck.

We are upset because Iowa State can't win. Prohm can't win. We don't have big 12 athletes. Those players are shown the door/ leave so Prohm can have the potential to reload with athletes who can compete at our level. We respond with more criticism.

Is it justified, yep. Is it overreaction. Nope. It's just.....yuck.

Iowa State would have won the Big 12's in Track and probably been a top 10 national team again for the Men and possibly made us all smile for 1 day or so.........but yet.........yuck just yuck.
Look on the bright side. Iowa State is still the reigning, defending, undisputed big 12 basketball tournament champion.

I'd like to see a twin towers 2014 Baylor zone defense. Conditt in the middle affecting any shot at the rim would be fun to watch.

I don’t think we can make a commitment to playing more zone unless we substantially longer at the 1, 2 and 3 positions. Bolton and Jackson are not ideal for a zone defense to to lack of length.

Jacobson wasn’t good. Shayok was about the best outcome possible. Getting a transfer of that caliber isn’t something I would bank on happening.

Jacobson was an average Big 12 starter as a junior when he had talent around him to give him space to work. He was not very good as a senior.

Was NWB not a Fred transfer? Legit unsure on this

Nick was a Fred transfer, as was Hallice

Nick came in during the offseason where Fred clearly had one foot out the door, TJ was essentially interim head coach for a period, and Prohm was hired.

I am not really sure who should get credit for him.

Maybe Nick was more of an "Iowa State recruit" as a legacy more than any one coach.
