You are implying that these players are leaving because they were told to leave, that is not the case. Even if Prohm wanted to “keep all of those guys” he couldn’t.

All I’m saying is I’ll be surprised if even 2 of the replacements are better than who they’re replacing. Prohm is not nearly the recruiter some folks make him out to be, and spring recruiting in particular has been abysmal under Prohm.

We need to find two guys to average 3 ppg or fewer. That doesn't seem insurmountable.

Absolutely we'd all have more faith, but at this time faith and hope are running out for Prohm. This to me screams desperation and Prohm is looking at next year as a "make or break" year. I mean we all wanted that right?
Nobody wants that to happen but the fact of the matter is, most people how Steve works and what his history has showed and it doesnt leave much hope. I think people want to cut the losses right now instead of just delaying the inevitable.

Just yuck. Everything is yuck. Grocery stores empty, towns are becoming ghost towns, sports cancelled, people getting sick, players transferring, cold and rainy day. Yuck, just yuck.

We are upset because Iowa State can't win. Prohm can't win. We don't have big 12 athletes. Those players are shown the door/ leave so Prohm can have the potential to reload with athletes who can compete at our level. We respond with more criticism.

Is it justified, yep. Is it overreaction. Nope. It's just.....yuck.

Iowa State would have won the Big 12's in Track and probably been a top 10 national team again for the Men and possibly made us all smile for 1 day or so.........but yet.........yuck just yuck.

Wait you actually think Prohm wanted to keep both of them? Zion Griffin is left handed but you wouldn't know that because he can't dribble with either hand and 90% of his shots were so flat that the defense knew to run to the front of the rim when he shot. Lewis was so bad defensively that opposing players demanded the ball when he guarded them.. Prohm didn't want to keep either of them. If they decided to leave on their own, all they did was make it easier for Steve.

And I really hope we're able to find guys better than those two because we were down to 8 guys at the end of the year when Bolton went out, and Zion and Lewis STILL struggled to get playing time.

So what do we do with the 3-headed monster in Solo, Conditt, and Foster? You are going to have to play 2 of those guys together to get your best players on the floor.
Watch Foster's highlight tape and you'll see why I don't have to answer that question lol.

JUCO route is risky from an academic and behavioral standpoint? We're at the point now where we need to take risk. Take Grill for example long time ISU fan, but we didn't offer in the beginning? Why maybe we were not aware of him or the staff knew he would compete at big 12 level? We lose a couple guys, TJ moved to Vegas Grill is sitting our there it didn't cost us anything to sign Grill, meaning we chose Grill over someone else. There was no risk in signing Grill.

Now were scrambling to fill a roster with higher risk kids and a small pool. We need this freshman class to perform well and pan out, to keep continuity wiothin the program.

Grill was pretty under the radar until he blew up his senior year. By the time his name was popping up he had already committed to Otz.

His history of what.. 2 bad years and 3 good years? I mean look i'll agree with you that Steve may not be the right fit but you don't get rid of a guy with Steve's accomplishments in this short amount of time. It would scare off a lot of potential candidates.

In reference to solo-a solid and could be a burgeoning good post will be the starter. Conditt-developing big with lacking post offense due to slight frame, good rebounder and shot blocker will be the backup. Foster- good skills for a big man but needs weight room work will see time at the 4. I wouldn't call these guys a three headed monster quite yet.

The players coming in will probably make the roster better. But the sad thing is it’s because anyone but Steve prohm helped those transfers develop into players. Grill saw the writing on the wall and didn’t want to end up being T Lewis in 2 years. A player with a ton of athleticism that was never coached up. How many D1 basketball games do you watch where more than a couple player just don’t know what they are doing.. it’s a prohm problem not a player problem.

Anyone still happy with Prohm? Anybody out there?

I know some of these guys weren't the highest-talent guys out there, but it's still sad to see people who are in line for playing time leave because of issues with our program.

Obviously this season as a whole is a disappointment but I'm still happy with Prohm from a standpoint of seeing recent success (Big12 titles, sweet 16 ect) and he has a pretty highly ranked recruiting class for next year. Obviously if next year doesn't pan out, then I think it's time for a change. However, can't say how much I respect the fact that Prohm cares about the players beyond basketball (we oftentimes as fans only care what they do for us on the court). How many other coaches are so sleezy they'll do anything to win or find new ways to cut corners.

Also hate how some of our fans think Prohm wakes up and tries to figure out how he can tank the program. I guarantee you he hates losing more than any of us. He definitely needs to tweak some things, but I choose to stay positive for the kids that are still there and are working hard to represent the school we love.
