TCU Game Time

It looked like he had the GameDay slot as ttu @ ou? Just beat tech and see how it plays out!

I think they will use the 7 day option to see how we do in Lubbock. If we win and TCU comes into Ames as a top 5 team, the story lines will be great since we have already beat OU. It will be a great game to Pack the Jack and have a lot of fun.

I hope we don't get the seven day window because I think we'll lose in Lubbock and then get stuck with another 11am game

Yeah never mind, I'll pump the brakes on Gameday. Just realized TCU hosted recently

Hoping for 11 or a night game, have this Trick or Treating thing I have to help out at for work.

But we aren’t playing Iowa. There’s no way we will ever sell out a game without playing them (Jimlad). But that would be an electric atmosphere. A night game top 25 matchup would be hysterical inside the stadium.

There is no such thing as a Gameday slot. Gameday can be at any game, no matter what network/time the game is. They usually stick to an ABC/ESPN game, but not always.

Ah good to know, always just assumed it was the 8 pm ABC game. When do they announce where GameDay is going? Is it at the taping of the current week (would it be announced before we play tech?)

TCU hosting before wouldnt change things much since this game is in ames. They don't like to repeat venues in a season, but teams make repeat appearances regularly.

The first 2 weeks of the season were Ohio State @ Indiana and OU@ Ohio state.

If we win @ texas tech, i think we've got a decent chance for that given OSU\PSU is on Fox and they've already been to that venue. A decent chance that if that's the best option they decide to say '**** it' and pick a random place like they did with Times Square though as well.

Usually comes out sometime the saturday a week before i think.

Honestly, GameDay isn't as far fetched as I originally thought. As was pointed out earlier there is almost no way that it will be in Columbus. Gameday has already been there this season, they are in Happy Valley the week before, and it is a 2:30 national Fox game.

The two most likely games that will be on ABC/ESPN are Tech @ Oklahoma and TCU @ Iowa St. TCU hosted GameDay Oct. 7th and Oklahoma was in the game in Columbus for GameDay earlier in the year. I could see a small chance for Oklahoma St. @ West Virginia if they both win this week or Georgia Tech @ Clemson, but that is also a stretch.

The only non ABC/ESPN game I could see is the NC State @ Notre Dame game which is on NBC at 2:30, but that doesn't seem very likely either.

There's a chance gameday comes to Ames for the TCU game if Iowa State wins at TTU. Other top games week 9 are:
(?) #4 TCU (6-0) @ ISU (4-2)
(?) #10 OKST (5-1) @ #23 WVU (4-2)
(?) TTU (4-2) @ #9 OU (5-1)
(FOX) #2 PSU (6-0) @ #6 OSU (5-1)
(?) GT (4-2) @ #7 Clemson (5-1)
(FOX?) UCLA (3-3) @ #12 WASH (6-1)
(NBC) #16 NCST (6-1) @ #13 Notre Dame (5-1)
(Pac-12?) #15 Wash St (6-1) @ Arizona (4-2)
(ESPNU?) Houston (4-2) @ #16 USF (6-0)

I'm assuming that gameday likes to pick games on ESPN or ABC. That would leave the 3 big 12 games, Clemson, and USF. They already did Ohio St vs OU, Louisville vs Clemson, and Va Tech vs Clemson, TCU vs WVU, and will do PSU vs Michigan. I'd think Clemson is out since they've been featured twice already and lost a game. They've already featured both OU and WVU. Houston will hopefully lose to #25 Memphis on Thursday, and Notre Dame will hopefully lose to USC. The winner of ISU vs TTU will be ranked and play a top 10 team. So if we win ISU vs TCU could be the best ABC/ESPN matchup.

If Notre Dame beats USC this weekend, NC State @ ND is prime for Gameday. Every ND home game is on NBC so Gameday can't wait for an ESPN/ABC game to go to South Bend. And their remaining home games are Wake Forest and Navy so they won't wait until later. A Top 20 upstart 6-1 opponent is perfect. So I won't get my hopes up even if we do beat Tech.

ESPN used a 7 day option last week (for the 10/21 games). The reason ISU-TTU was announced at the normal time was because ESPN already passed on the game so FS1 picked it up. How many 7 days picks do they get in a season?

Oct 28 is time change weekend in the UK so I am screwed regardless of the game time.
