Tamin Lipsey-Steals record watch

That’s great and all, but he was a mess turning the ball over all game tonight. He can be extremely frustrating.
lol, this guy…..I still remember when he came in here years ago and said he had watched Halice Cooke extinsively at OSU and he was much better than Matt Thomas….

So I always enjoy rolling my eyes at his posts.

He has some work to do in terms of offensive skills and in knowing when not to get too far into the lane against the big guys. The most frustrating thing is when he get in the lane and actually has a shot and then tries to pass it. I think next year he will come back with a new skill set.

He is a freshman I can live with his play this yr. We would have been much worse without him. I think people should be looking at his 4 yr upside instead of freshman learning curve errors.
Yep, for a freshman who was thrown into a critical position, he has outperformed all reasonable expectations.

Would like to see Tamin do more of what he did last night, pull up and pop from 16foot. Helped to pull the defense out on him and loosened things up.

You could say that about most of the team.

Holmes passed up some open, in rhythm shots only to force a drive, shot a flat footed shot, or have the rest of the team not have an open look the entire possession. Even Gabe passed up some mid range shots.

Something that's frustrating is that Tamin will do it one game but not the next. He seems more hesitant when we are down vs when we have a need. When he's open and it's in rhythm he needs to let it fly, especially when open looks were thought to come by tonight.

This is what he needs to work on this off season. He needs to at least be a threat to shoot. For being thrown to the wolves this year he did a damn good job. We are in good hands.

For sure. And when he does he will be able to pump fake and drive like Gradey did tonight when he felt the close out was a threat.

Based on what TJ said coming out of the half, the focus was scoring in the paint. When we score in there well, we win. We'll certainly pass up an open jump shot to eat a bit more clock and get a better look in close.
