Survivor 50

Do you think Jeff knew it was a fake idol? My wife believes he did; she thinks he was aware that an idol wasn't placed there. I'm not so sure. At his level, I don't think he gets into much detail, other than understanding the idols' power and whether they're real or fake.
He definitely knew. He’s a producer also. When he’s not hosting, he’s watching film and reviewing what they need to do to make it work for television. He’s not stepping in and saying “that’s a fake idol.” He’s letting the game play out for television. Devens looked at him, smiled and winked when they were walking out.

Thank you. I assumed he wouldn’t intervene if he knew the idol was fake, although I haven't taken the time to read the rules about fake idol etiquette, and I won’t. As a producer, I didn’t expect him to be fully involved in idol placement, but it makes sense that he would at least be aware if one was placed at tribal. I suspect that one will be placed there in the future; it certainly stirred things up.

On other countries Survivor's they have placed them at Tribal and people have found them at Tribal. All American Survivors know this. That is why Devins play was so good. They had mentioned it before at a Tribal years ago when a guy tried to find one at Tribal. Jeff 100 percent knew it was an Idol. I think not only is Jeff the main producer now, he is the show runner. I could be wrong that the second part. jeff will let anything go that will help improve the ratings and the game.

Oh, OK, gottcha. I didn't know. We watched the first five or so seasons, then stopped watching a lot when the kids came. When we came back to watch again with season 47, the "shot in the dark" thing was new to us, among others. We recognized Cirie from Traitors, not Survivor.

I ended up watching the Traitors with my daughter because she likes some dude named "Rob" that won the last season of it. She knew him from love Island. She is 22. They like that sort of thing. It's not a bad show. However, to be quite honest, it's basically people guessing at stuff and hoping they land on something. It would be a lot more interesting if they made the people who are traitors sabotage the contests somehow. Otherwise it's just basic guessing

I agree, haha. My wife was happy that Rob won, but I wasn't as pleased. She really enjoys traitors. My son likes it too. Thank goodness for streaming; I can binge-watch these shows late at night during the summer and winter weeks. I'm too busy in the spring and fall.

Now, back to Survivor—I didn’t mean to hijack the thread!

BTW I am giving advice for anyone on Survivor if anyone from this website appears on it.

If looking for an Idol. Watch the camera guy. Keep turning around and check back. Everytime someone is looking for an Idol, the camera guy always zooms in on it.

Also, If you ever have to find one Coconut on a beach with a bunch of other Coconuts, watch where the Camera guy lines up. He will zoom in on the Coconut while you are looking for it. He will also line up really close to it.

That was the first Challenge I have seen where after it I thought "Producers just cheated on that". Big brother it happens all the time. Survivor loves Cerie. I am convinced they qued her in on the Coconut. Also, they never showed the sand going through the timer to show how much time it took her. They do that every time they use the hour glass timer

I loved this week's episode. Couldn't of happened to a more deserving individual. I will say that Christian when angry at tribal looked like he could be a serial killer with how deranged he was.

I *think* he was being tongue-in-cheek angry. I'm pretty sure based on the way the vote went down that he was pretty sure he was going home and I it appeared to me that he was trying to be funny by appearing to be mad at Jimmy Fallon.

Or maybe he lost his mind and was actually mad at Jimmy Fallon.

I'm enjoying the season, it's a pretty hard one to screw up given how many great players are in it. I can't believe how easily Cirie jedi mind tricks people into doing what she wants.

Her problem is going to be the final challenge. She's almost certainly not going to win it and I can't imagine a group of veterans choosing to take her to the final tribal.

Cirie is the leader in the clubhouse at the moment with Rick and Jonathan a distant 2nd and 3rd for me.

Ok I want everyone's predicted final three. Then we can come back and see how wrong or right we were. :)

I'm riding the Cirie/Ozzy/Rizo train alliance even though I hate Rizo. But I think while those three make the final FOUR, I think one is ousted in the fire making challenge.

Final three: Cirie, Ozzy....Joe.

The fans voted for more twists. I don't think they voted for overly powerful advantages/disadvantages that feel like the producers are tipping the scales.

Last week cirie gets immunity without competing plus gets to come back and organize the vote. This week christian has to vote himself out and tell everyone he's doing it.

To me a twist is something that the survivors have to adapt and overcome. Not production saying we want to protect someone for sitting out and we want you to vote out the person on the journey. Everybody knowing everything ("hidden" immunity idols, lost votes, you have to vote for yourself) all the time means nobody has to strategize or adapt. Just go down the path that is laid before you.

The part of voting a team out and watching them work around that was interesting but giving away immunity was not. Either leave her on exile and she doesn't get a vote or play this challenge when there is an even number of players.

Maybe it's the edit but it seems more people are the victims of the game than their own gameplay. The game cost Q, Colby, Genevieve, Christian and probably some others.

I agree on 2 of yours --Cirie and Joe and for the 3nd I'll go Aubry. That's not the final 3 I want but, it's my prediction

I'd split the remaining players into 3 camps:
1. Players that can win the game
- Cirie, Jonathon, Devens, Rizzo

2. Players that can make the final 3 and could get votes at final tribal. They are unlikely to win at this time.
- Joe, Aubrey, Ozzy

3. Players that don't deserve to make it to final 3 and have zero chance to win
- Emily, Tiff, Stephanie
