Survivor 50

If I had to guess the producers have probably made that a rule by now that you can't do that. Between the issues with him then that Dan guy they had to remove from the game for inappropriately touching people they probably don't want another controversy like those to happen. Just like they did away with the challenges where they had 1 or 1 or really physical battles where someone could get hurt or inadvertantly touched somewhere that could be perceived as being out of line. That was kind of Hatch's strategy was if he was naked people would not want to get near him during a physical challenge.

I agree. The challenges on Survivor actually suck. It's basically the same three challenges every single time. Do an obsticle course and then solve a puzzle, See how long you can stand while holding something or sanding on small pegs, then the multiple balls rolling down the track at the end where you have one arm tied behind your back and every other ball goes down a different track. I love Survivor game play more but The Challenge on MTV is far superior on the Challenges. I actually like TJ as a host more also. Jeff tries to hard to act like everything is some life changing experience.

I don't mind them re-using some the challenges for this season because there have been moments where Jeff mentioned a player either won or struggled with that challenge on a previous season so that has some relevance. But yes they are overdue for some new ones. I wish they'd bring back the ones where they had to eat things. Those were entertaining to watch some of them struggle to eat stuff while others ate it like nothing. Some of the physical 1 on 1 battles from older seasons could get tweeked a bit so they aren't as violent but doubt we see those return either. The car reward used to be a good one too as that always jinxed whoever won it but they probably would need to get a car sponsor on board again if they brought it back.

Right. How hard would it be to get Toyota to donate a car for the winner. Have it parked on the beach and get that advertisment in that way. Seems like a less obvious ad than the stupid Applebee's add where the players all act like Applebees is the best place ever to eat in the history of food.

I don't mind returning challenges either. However, when every challenge is just a form of a different challenge it really sucks. Like come up with some new concepts.

The Applebee's thing was very cringe. It's not a great restaurant. Survivor pimping sponsors in game is cringe, too. I agree to just throw in another prize with the million and promote it that way.

I'm surprised after 50 seasons, that we don't have another "Richard Hatch" walking around naked all the time. You would think with all the personalities to play this game, you would find another kook to let it all hang out and not give 2 poops.

I'm fairly positive I heard somewhere they made a rule against going naked. There was a time where guys where going naked every other challenge. Especially the physical ones just trying to stop the other competitors from wrestling with them. I'm pretty sure it was after the Dan incidents that they developed more regulations on what is acceptable.

Challenges are mostly all the same. Some form of physical obstacle course followed by a puzzle. The obstacle course is just window dressing for the puzzle. That is what really determines the winner. I wonder if they started with a puzzle and finished with an obstacle course how people would feel. Is that enough of a change to make it feel new? I really didn't like the way the did the challenge last week. Splitting them into 2 teams for a physical obstacle course then the winning team competes for immunity. I don't like them eliminating half the people from the immunity challenge. Just let everyone compete. They will all be eliminated eventually and one person will win.

The problem with doing the puzzle first is most of the times one team get's destroyed in the puzzle. So the obstacle course would not be very glose. So they could probably just cruise through it. Otherwise not a bad idea.

Rizzo saying to Coach "you changed my life" what an absolute tool, he is just as bad as Q is with how he views himself and playing this game...Chrissy was onto him, I hope she spoke to a few about him...his edit is making me think its a smokescreen...and i hope it is, the guy doesnt deserve his spot in season 50!

Who does everyone think is sitting good at this point? The first few weeks I thought Cirie was toast. Now she would be my odds on pick to win it all right now. She's got herself in a great position where so many are still wanting to play with her and tell her secrets yet she's now off the radar of literally everyone. I'll be shocked if she doesn't make the finale at this point if she keeps playing like she is.

It's crazy. The first episode it looked like she was going home. Now it's like other players are borderline begging to give her all of the secrets and loyalty.

The team elimination was a crazy twist. Some people who may have been targets were safe because of who was on their team. However it's kind of similar to splitting the merged tribe into seperate teams for tribal. I wanted to see more large group tribal where they had to try and organize 13 people into a vote. As it was it quickly narrowed down to a couple teams because they didn't have enough friends. Seeing coach start to lose it a little because he couldn't get 14 independent thinkers to align with him was more fun and interesting to me.

I get they have so many people left and they have to get rid of some to get down to the end. I would have preferred to have them only give one tribe immunity before the merge. But this is a returning player season and you want your "stars" to be on as much/long as possible.

They seem to like to do these things where they shrink the options for the vote when they have a large group because "there is nowhere to hide". As I see it they will get down to where there are only 6 people left anyway. Then there is nowhere to hide. I would like to see more of how do we manage so many people with so many options. As it is they completely eliminate that by altering the rules every week.

I guess I would not have been in the 63% majority wanting lots of twists.

Devens doing Devens things. :D

He played that pretty well. I worried him not showing it might be a red flag. They certainly got the edit right because I did not see his bluff working that well.
I'm very happy with the result and those two could worm their way back in still.

Devins might be a top 3 all time player. He knows when he is in trouble, Finds idols, that trick last night that he set up a few weeks ago worked like a charm. He really is good. Love watching him play. I think he is really underrated as a player.

Ha ha. I hate watch Rizzo. When he said "You changed my life." I shouted at the screen, "CHANGE IT BACK," thinking there's no way he could have been this annoying before."

Do you think Jeff knew it was a fake idol? My wife believes he did; she thinks he was aware that an idol wasn't placed there. I'm not so sure. At his level, I don't think he gets into much detail, other than understanding the idols' power and whether they're real or fake.
