Super Troopers 2 Trailer

Has anyone actually met a French Canadian???? Even the French hate them.
I have to deal with them pretty regularly for work, they are as stubborn and uppity as the French when it comes to language. They will not speak English if they know I'm an American unless I can help them in some way. The French hate them because they think they are true Frenchies and the Canadians don't like them because they think they're better haha

The original Super Troopers trailer is amazing.

This should be fun. I don't have super high expectations, but I'll definitely see it.

Also, am I the only one that likes Beerfest better than Super Troopers?

Germans (even fake ones) always make for superior villains. It's just how the world works.

I will probably get killed for this, but I didn't think Super Troopers was very good. I'd heard so much about how awesome it was, and was really underwhelmed. And I do like those types of movies (Superbad, Beerfest, etc) .

Beerfest >>>>>>>> Super Troopers

I’m cautiously optimistic...it was a funny trailer. Looks like they’ve picked up where they left off 17 years ago. That’s how you’d do it instead of making up some ridiculous backstory on where they’ve been for meaningless continuity (I hope they don’t do that now). This is a character comedy...insert a decent plot, push some boundaries in character and you’re good to go. I’d be happy with just a mediocre sequel these days.

Funny you say that...my experience is that they play the accent game too.....They've been in the states so long, I am pretty sure they are citizens....and certainly should have a more Americanized accent...yet they lay the French on thick to impress desperate sophistication seekers...like so many of our fellow Iowans. So tired and lame....but it works with the self-loathers. I guess you could say that about a slew of folks...hell, I know cucks that swoon when Adele prattles on as if she is some oracle of wisdom and I try to tell them she is the most ignorant white trash cockney Mama June the british could foist on us. Revenge for Yorktown.

I'm keeping expectations really low. Has there ever been a comedy sequel that was worth watching? I can't think of any off hand.

Maybe Austin Powers 2?

That's a good question.

Saw the original AP recently...2nd one doesn't hold up and relies too much on gross humor.

Gremlins 2?

Gremlins 2?

Gremlins 2 is a great one. I’d offer up Bill and Teds Bogus Journey, Christmas Vacation, Army of Darkness, Home Alone 2, and Ghostbusters 2. The Naked Guns are pretty good also. I liked Austin Powers 2 and 3. Not saying all of these beat the originals (Christmas Vacation did, and Army of Darkness), but they are all worth watching.

Ah, good ones (didn't see Army of Darkness).

The original Austin Powers is so appealing to me because of how well they replicate the old Bond movies. The shots opening up to Dr. Evil's lair are pretty much on point.

The others had their moments but just felt like a series of fart jokes.

Yeah, I see that, they pushed the boundaries of lampooning Bond when that was their bread and butter. Although they tried Moonraker in AP 2, but I can’t think of anything overt in AP 3.

Don’t take this personally, but sincerely gtfo.

Anchorman 2? I know the critics didn't like all the Hangover Movies but I liked all 3, same with all 3 Harold and Kumar movies. I thought The Internship was a pretty funny sequel to Wedding Crashers (ok tech not a sequel but it is Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson)

Tonight's the big night- anyone else headed to the theater?

I don't have ultra high hopes, mainly because I think the original is implanted in so many of my college memories. That said, it's going to be a great candidate for the early sunday morning movie slot (Hello $6.75 movie ticket).

Also be interesting to see how well the people who loved the movie have aged. It came out 16 years ago. I'm a much different person now then I was in '02.

Amen to college memories. Beerfest was quite influential as well. Based on the trailers and interviews with Broken Lizard, they seem like the same fellas. I'll be sure to give a non-spoiler review after I see it tonight.
