I wouldn't put too much stock into the starting lineup for summer exhibitions. I am pretty confident our starting backcourt will be: Tamin, KG, Curtis Jones. I do not know how it will shake out in the front court but I do know we will have a very good bench regardless. We have 9-10 guys that will legitimately push for playing time and some of it may simply be matchup dependent.

Curtis Jones has exceeded expectations this offseason. He can really shoot it. He will be a nice 2 year backcourt piece on the wing and can provide some secondary playmaking. He was an efficient decision maker at Buffalo.

Demarion Watson is a guy I wouldn't sleep on. He'll make a jump offensively and is a weapon on the defensive end. He'll have a role in the rotation and be a starter as an upperclassmen.

CW said on the last pod that Omaha may not currently be one of the 5 most talented guys on the roster, which is not a knock on Omaha

To clarify, that's not exactly what they said. Blum said, "Omaha Biliew is a McDonald's All-American and he may not be one of the best 5 right now."

Omaha and Milan are definitely the most talented players on the roster.

This. CW was pretty clearly making a point to give Omaha some time to acclimate. He wasn't making a long term blanket statement that he didn't think he wasn't going to be one of the best players on the team

i think the Omaha and Milan hype overshadowed the transfers and returning guys a little, understandable especially with Omaha but 7-8 other guys on roster that are very very good basketball players and they all have D1 experience.

I'm not sure if it's worth putting too much stock into the starting line up at any time.

Things change, roles shift and expand, some players work better off the bench, etc. and it's a slog of a season to figure that kind of stuff out.

Probably splitting hairs here but if I were to name the most talented guy on the roster right now, I may put Gilbert with Omaha and Milan behind him. Maybe even C. Jones in there as well. But that's obviously subject to change and I think will change as both of those guys gain experience.

So right now the rotation split high level is:

Guards (positions 1,2,3):
Lipsey, Pac, Gilbert, Jones, Watson
Backup: Hamilton

Forwards (positions 4,5):
King, Ward, Jones, Billiew, Momcilovic
Backup: Fish, Rock

Any chance a forward could get guard minutes (Momcilovic or Billiew at the 3)? Has anyone who has watched the games seen anything outside of this framework?

This is just a summer league game against a bad team, but it's nice to call out good plays when you see one.. A couple things here on this play..

I'm pretty sure I saw this play happen on the live stats site, and Watson actually took a shot here, followed it up by getting his own rebound and kicking it back out. Milan gets the three from Gilbert. Watson looks huge here. He looks like he's put in the work and I think he's going to play a lot more than I expected.

Watson and Lipsey are both high motor guys who get the dirty work done.

I like the finding of the open guy (s) and knowing where they're going to be in August.

Watson could have forced it after the rebound but made the easy controlled play instead.

my way too early takeaway from 2 Bahama games against HS level competition that we've only seen a few highlights from:

-this team is deeper and better than we even thought
-ppl shouldn't be shocked that Omaha and Milan are coming off the bench as of now
-Omaha might not even be a top 5 scorer for this team
-Gilbert and Jones were massive additions will probably be our top 2 scorers
-Ward has surpassed Big Rob as our starting C
-Pav will be pushing Lipsey for playing time - much better offensive player high A/TO ratio and can shoot
-Defense will be even better than last year i think legit top 5 potential
-Pace will be much faster this year - i think that will be most notable change we see
-I think our play will resemble something like the best WV teams we've seen - create chaos on D push it for easy scores on O - 10 man rotation everyone stays fresh
-Most talented roster since Niang's senior year

I think that Pav is going to come off the bench and spell Lipsey. But then when Lipsey comes back he'll slide over to the 2 while Gilbert sits. Or he comes in for Gilbert and then slides to the 1 for Lipsey after a bit. Either way, it's a 3 man rotation at the 1 and 2 with Pav playing behind both.
