This.Giving Lavine $20 million a year is such a bad idea. Just tank and try to get top free agents next summer.

okc he had 2 pts and 8 rebs todayRemind me, who is Burton playing with this summer?
The Bulls need to focus on getting Anthony Davis in two years. As long as they do that, they can drop money on upside plays like Lavine.
Bucks get Brook Lopez for 1 year.
Looking more and more like Houston as the landing spot for Melo after he and the Thunder reach a buyout agreement. The Rockets have lost two of their better 3 and D guys in Ariza and Mbah a Moute to free agency. Melo doesn't offer much in the way of defense but he does at least theoretically offer some offensive firepower. I guess it depends on whether you think he's washed or if the fit was just that bad in OKC. I think it's probably a little of both. He's past his All Star days, but Russell Westbrook is not an easy guy to play with and in the optimal situation Melo can still provide some scoring punch as a third option.
I'd be offering like veterans minimum if I'm other teams, they know they have OKC over a barrelAt 28 Million they're are only a couple of teams that could absorb that space, The Bulls would have been a obvious partner before the Lavine contract but now don't have the cap space. I did hear of a scanerio where the Bulls could trade Felicio and his 20+ million over 3 years for Melo even possibly to keep him since they don't have a good SF option.
I in the end I expect him to get a buyout from OKC once he can get a price from the teams he's meeting with (much like Dwight Howard).
