Yeah this is my same thoughts as someone that has been in section T for a long time too. The equivalent of that would be sections Z, B or H when it comes to the same angle of view but it may be a crapshoot on what row with moving that many people all at once. Besides Z where they are vacating the students from B and H are already season ticket holder I believe. They are adding a lot more seating for students based on that map so that 5% more makes me wonder if they have enough attrition from renewals for the people they are relocating if they will all fit in the same sections the students were taken out of.

I sit in section 29. The ped bridge is about the same as the South Endzone exit as far as distance. i think you're overthinking this.
Other than the people nervous that their seats are going to get worse I'm not sure I get the angst over this (other than there just has to be angst over everything).
Regarding the statement that this one done for "safety reasons". We were fined $25k for one field rush due to the safety of the opposing team and reprimanded a second time. I would bet that part of the discussion with the Big 12 was you need to straighten this out or the fines are going to start to escalate. Not to mention that with potential litigation if there was ever a serious injury and we hadn't made a change after a documented fine and reprimand we'd basically have to open our check book for the injured party.
If it wasn't for the fact that it was always located in a different location I think most would look at this as a pretty logical location for the students. Was more seat revenue also a consideration? Yeah most likely and honestly if it wasn't I'd be disappointed, we need more revenue.

Time to ban visiting bands.
The safety issue is a clear response to the Big 12 complaining about rushing. It isn’t because it is actually dangerous where it was it is because the Big 12 keeps complaining about the current setup.
Other than Iowa how many visiting bands even travel to Ames? Can't recall many.
I think the ISU band only makes like 1 trip to a visiting team a season (not counting a bowl game).
Give them some perks while still in school so they will pay up later. Just my opinion
It was in the SW part of the stadium when I was a student. I don’t remember there being much of anything in the end zones back then but the place was pretty new. We ran up that hill on the west when they opened a gate at the bottom. Speed was essential in procuring a good seat.
After spending a major sum of money to improve pedestrian traffic flow via the new walk bridge, I think the University may try to encourage people to use it. Would sure aide traffic flow if fans would choose to take that route to their vehicles instead of stopping traffic south of the stadium while they cross, as has been done previously.
It'd probably come down to KU\KSU\OSU at this point. OU and UT used to send bands but they'll be out.
This move is strictly being made for safety reasons. There is no financial gain in this move. The student ticket prices remain the same, as do the public ones. You are basically flipping the student section with a public seating area that did not require a donation, too.
