If he's been saying Prohm sucks and it turns out he's right, how does that make him actually wrong? That's some crazy ass mental gymnastics.

Someone making blanket statements based on their emotional immaturity after every loss doesn't mean anything outside of being unable to accept disappointment.

Using that weakness as a way to say years later that you were correct on anything is simply a ******* joke.

6th place with Georges,Monte,Nader,Naz,Thomas, Burton as well. Was in danger of missing the tournament the next season with Morris, Naz, Burton, and Thomas until a crazy hot February. Prohm has always fallen below expectations every season other than last year, which was one of the few times it felt like there wasn't a consensus on how good we were supposed to be

And in hindsight, last year ended up underperforming too. This isn't a snap reaction to a few bad games, this has been a trend for years. We have squandered a mountain of momentum from the Hoiberg years.

Pundits were saying we had the best talent in the Big 12 last year. In hindsight I'd say we were probably 2nd behind Tech. Went 9-9 with many head shaking losses.

Pollard won’t be firing Prohm anytime soon. Pollard laid the groundwork to blame this season on THT and Wiggington. Go back and listen to the CF interview with Pollard this past summer if you don’t know what I’m talking about. It would take back-to-back disastrous years in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. While we are officially on our way for that in 2019-2020, the bar is so low now that it won’t take much for Pollard to argue progress. I think it takes missing the tournament three straight seasons, so spring 2022 is it.

To address the original poster, he is one of the worst in the conference (8th, 9th, or 10th) but that isn’t necessarily as bad as it sounds. It’s a well coached conference, but we deserve better.

10 years ago I’d agree..But the vision isu and pollard has for the near future he can’t sell with the way the b-ball program is right now.. Prohm has had this program for 5 years now? It’s his baby...and he’s the one recruiting. Programs lose players early all the time...Granted losing 2 in one year and 3 in 2 years isn’t normal.. but the 2019 class is all on Prohm and right now it looks like he went 0-4..and that is extremely bad folks. All Prohm had to do is land 1 stud in last years class and this team would probably be fine..but they struck out on all 4 and it might just cost Prohm his job.

From the little I know, I like Steve as a person. As others have said, he seems to be a good ambassador for the university. He came into a difficult situation, following maybe the most beloved son of ISU ever. Standing in Fred’s shadow has to be tough. He also is a pretty good recruiter. Part of this team’s issues are that two guys left early for the draft. That makes it tough to assemble a roster.

That said, I see no improvement in the team. Our offensive sets aren’t especially good. Our OOB plays never seem to produce. His substitutions make no sense. And he uses timeouts terribly - tonight there were two occasions when we hit a big three and he called a TO right after, basically cooling us off and taking the crowd out of it.

The Iowa game was tough to stomach. This was inexcusable. If we don’t finish .500 in league play, time to fire Coach Prohm.

There are plenty of successful coaches who are comparatively weak on x&o stuff but good recruiters, and vice-verse. In Prohm’s case it might be worthwhile to think about a Juwan Howard/Phil Martelli type situation but that’s obviously a bit sad considering he’s been a head coach for years. The problem with Prohm is that his teams basically quit with alarming frequency. Didn’t see tonight’s game but I would assume that’s what happened. That comes from the top. He’s not a motivator of men. His teams have no identity because he has no identity.
